According to the report “Vandals have smashed its cockpit, removed the pilot and daubed paint on it.”
Crikey, the pilot must be worse for wear.:)

Me + merkle would love thos metors

Thos Metors? I think i’ve been on holiday there.:p
IIRC, it’s a 330 rather than a Skyvan. Not sure that any of the latter are preserved.

Regarding these parts we need – ALL parts are needed and required to help with the renovation of this cockpit no matter what other people say on this forum.
I would say people are trying to help. The J41 would be totally inappropriate for the T1/C-10 as it’s completely different from any preceding Jetstream variant.
That said, recreating the layout of the flightdeck accurately is hampered by the fact that the C-10A had TPE331-3 engines rather than the T.1/2’s Astazous, the 31’s -10’s and the 32’s -12’s.
Everett aero seem to be offering a fair few T.1’s recently so that may be a start with regrds to non engine specific items.. There are also a few T.1’s in scrapyards at the mo iirc.

What is the future of the preserved Herald?
J
Hmm. G-MATP was ‘converted’ into a J61 wasn’t it (as evidenced by it’s current colour scheme)? I was under the understanding that this was classed as the prototype and set 64 was the first production airframe?
J
Still there. Windscreen pillars cut through and all. It’s also the ATP prototype.
j
It is still at Woodford minus engines but with a full working interior for use by the Customer Training Centre.
G-6-391 was parted out and scrapped with very few hours on the air frame.

However, we do still assemble the Islander, Hawk, Merlin, Lynx, AW149, Typhoon, Nimrod, Raytheon Hawker complete airframes, Europa, numerous micro and ultra lights, UAVs and balloons
Are complete Raytheons assembled over here? I thought they only produced the fuse and then it went to Wichita?
The Islander is manufactured in Romania. The Nimrod is really a conversion of a 1950’s design isn’t it, which is late as was the Typhoon IIRC. The Hawk and the Lynx designs must be getting nearly 40 years old.
Granted, the technology updates to these airframes is phenomenal but how much of that technology is British?
J
Two preserved J31’s? Superb! What condition is G-EEST in?
J
And Canberra WK163 which was built at Woodford!:) Not sure about engines running though.
J
What about an Avro trio at Coventry- Lanc, Shack n Vulcan, all with engines running?
J
What is the identity of the J31? I seem to remember there was one at blackpool.

This is a great thread on many levels imho. Is this one of the first times that a museum has posted (nearly) daily updates on restoration progress? Reading through what has been said it seems this forum has been a vast mine of info and help. It also just shows what can be done with a huge amount of enthusiasm.
Cheers,
J
It’s the Nimrod MRA4 General Systems integration “Iron Bird”. Comet (G-ANLO) mid fuse, Nimrod AEW Nose, Nimrod MR2 Landing Gears, steel wings and tail……. all set up with MRA4 control actuators, hydraulic systems, monitoring electronics, flying controls etc (No clever weapons system bits, that was on another rig). Spent many a happy hour on this rig.
That’ll be at Warton then.
