either it burst into flames in mid-air leaving no scope for ejection or the pilots tried to belly land and didnt work out…the news report today was confusing between the two. being a trainer it surely has ejection seats.

meantime, hi-res image of Sriharikota rocket launch center

thats because digital display of analog meter is easier to quickly read and understand.

I have always felt the gigantic frameless wide angle “rafale HUD” deserves another home in the MKI cockpit.

the advantages will be less nodoubt due to external drag but lets face it – AAMs carried semi conformally under the fuselage are not as draggy as huge bombs.

and I dont see why use or non-use of afterburner has anything to do with it – the raptor can just play longer in that regime thats all.

sounds like TVC is a decent investment for EF, gripen and rafale if they are upto it, the russians will surely incorporate in the pakfa and now mig35.

    > A Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) from AMS.

AMS also supplied it for the su30mki.

looking at this photo of a indian hind, does it mean the gun only moves up and
down and pilot has to point the nose at the target ?

else what would be the advantage of the new gun installed by south africans?

boy that really sucks not having a trainable gun to shoot at the sides!

I would say there should be a analog dials for altimeter, speed, artificial horizon and fuel – basic survival info. keep them tucked away in one corner like the new style gripen and free up vast real estate for the MFDs.

I wonder why a continent-country like Australia doesnt go for a mix of long range F15-AUS and F-22 (downgrade its avionics to reduce cost but not compromise on range or speed…ex get a cheaper APG63 or APG80 than the bigstick APG77 to cut a few millions off each plane, dont buy some of the advanced munitions).

JSF’s competitor is Pak_fa in indonesian hands. I dont see any potential conflict with malaysia, singapore, PRC or India.

I suggest watermark your photos on the internet with your name and copyright even if it spoils the photo somewhat. people who want the originals can then contact you directly.
put the watermark across the middle of photo not on side where it can be cropped.

I would depute around 1000 troops to repair the damaged port stanley airfield with quick setting concrete, position manpads, radar guided L70 guns and a few units of tunguska offloaded from ships and driven there. seahawks attempting to damage the base can be held off for a couple of days until the first Flankers arrive from india via maldives, seychelles, south africa and brazil with accompanying IL78 support.

A day of two of heavy strikes on A4 bases in the mainland should “teach a lesson” to the enemy.

if there aint enough food to keep the 50,000 lads happy, just load up most of them send them to maraud and pillage the coastal towns on the mainland like a band of wild vikings from hell…gurkhas and sikhs leading the charge as usual.

cant be astra, not even the ground launched rocket motor trials is started.

seeing the range..probably playing with python5 or imho a new seeker & motor for the Aphid (r-60) missiles to extend their lifespan. IAF has thousands of them inventory.

SAM mines need to be developed which can be dropped by sub in likely LRMP patrol areas. when the IFF or ESM shows hostile a/c the mine will release a python5 or vl-micaIR type missile. the playing field needs to be levelled.

well well with the nukular deal signed and India being a “strategic partner” and all that, its time for India to ask US cos to bid on a steam capapult system and a steam plant driven by bled energy from gas turbine plants of the type ADS-2 are likely to have. and pls make it fit inside a hull of 50kt.

the CDG with two cats can hurl twice the number of heavier a/c in a emergency compare to single ski jump on gorshkov and ADS-1.

It is time, gentlemen – to kick some serious a.. 😡
