    RE: TV and Internet.

I do use a radio connection with a 10Mb link. Well, it´s a shared link among everybody in my building but it usually works fine because there must be no more than 10 users in the LAN. Its only disavantage when compared to cable and adsl connections is that radio connection is much more sensitive to weather conditions. Sometimes when it starts raining heavily here, it slows down a lot in a very annoying way. Here in brazil, most of the cable and ADSL connections are limited at the speed of 256Kb and cost twice the price of radio connection, so I dont have much to complain. 🙂

    RE: Windows XP

I was just reading a newspaper published by a private fund for enginnering which is located inside the university where I study (which is public) when I found something relative to Windows’ source codes.
PS.: for those who dont know I live in Brazil.
According to it, in August 2001, Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballner, during a visit to Brazil said to our president, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, that Microsoft would open Windows’ sources codes to Brazilian universitys. In May, Microsoft announced that Brazilians academic researchers would have acess to .NET plataform source codes. Over a milion lines from the codes would be avaliable due a “Shared Source license program”. This license allows to see the codes, but not modify them.
    Well, this a beginning, right?
P.S.: I hope you guys can understand my translation. 😉

    RE: National Music

    Brazil

Most probably samba’s and bossa nova’s singers must being the most known Brazilian artists in foreign countries. But there is also a lot of respect to Brazilian metal bands, specially Sepultura, Angra and Soulfly. Today´s top parade hits is consisted meanly by Britney Spears´s Brazilian clones :), some pop-rock bands and a bit of melodic (spelling?) hardcore.
