    Easy Poles

Companies who keep exporting British jobs should pay penalties to the Gov for the unemployment they cause, and we should try not to use them again!

Shame, they could have designed a nice livery. Who does this bad designing? A child could do better!

    B787

Next time your flying at thirty eight thousand feet just remember that every single part of that airframe was built by the lowest bidder
The wings are manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagoya

And also remember this is the first commercial airliner with a carbon composite fuselage, one bang with a truck and it wont dent but could crack internally.
Remember the Comet! I just hope they get it right!

Ah i see. I hope they keep the 747s on not only do they have the best names there all pretty young aircraft they can show airbus hows to fly in style instead of some whale of an A380! :dev2:

Talking of style, have you see the 747 LCF monster that arrived at PIk earlier in the week, makes the Beluga from Airbus look ultrastylish! And the A380 graceful.

Lets all remember that this B787 has loads of new technology including a carbon composite fuselage, untried technology in such a large scale. Anything could still go wrong.

Im sure some airline have placed orders just hoping for long delays and compensation to boot. This could still happen. What if a problem occurs with the 747LCF, it could quite easily!

    Food for thought.

Dont forget that the additional purchase rights are used by the airlines to generate bigger discounts on the aircraft that they really want.

Having flown with Flybe many times on different routes I have never had a major problem, one delay of 1 hour but arrived only 20 minutes behind schedule, that was from BHX on a Monday 7am flight, for this flight it is impossible for all flights to leave on time as there are about 12 flights departing between 06.45 and 07.00 with a min of 3 minutes between departs, this I would not blame on the airline but poor management and planning at BHX.

Do you think Virgin are going to use the purchase rights to hold out for the proposed 787-10 stretch? As that cuts into the 777-200 market, it may be a closer replacement to the A340-600s. They would still be losing capacity though…

    Good question.

There is always the possibility of them introducing more routes where a lower capacity is required. Also this will be a great bargaining tool to use with Airbus to get great discounts on A350XWB’s wont it.

I cant see them using aircraft with lower capacities on existing routes as they seem to fill most flights that I have travelled on during the last 5 years, these include flights to NY, back from LA, HKG return and 4 returns to JoBurg.

Sir Branson is quite a cool cookie and he will do whatever he needs to do to help build the business.

    Virgin Atlantic – 2 Engines 2 Good:dev2:

Virgin Atlantic 2 Engines 20% more profit from the punter!

I can see the 787 replacing the A340 600 fleet with a few additional aircraft, and the A380 going to replace part of the 747 fleet which will need replacing soon,if he wants to keep the Youngest Fleet statement.

KARACHI: A cargo van hit an Islamabad-bound PIA plane at Karachi airport on Tuesday, damaging the plane’s engine and injuring the van’s driver, Geo TV reported.

According to the channel, the van slipped and hit the lower part of the plane while loading the passengers’ luggage onto it. The van driver was reportedly injured in the collision. Passengers had not yet begun to board the Airbus A310 jet, Associated Press reports. The plane’s body and one engine, however, were damaged and delayed the flight by two hours while repairs were undertaken, according to APP.

The accident marks the third involving PIA aircraft at the Karachi airport in two weeks. Earlier this month, the tail of a PIA Boeing 777 clipped the wing of another jet as it taxied. No one was hurt. Then, last week, the nose of an A310 Airbus hit the ground during an emergency landing when six of its tires burst. No one on board the jet was injured. agencies

Well at least the Airbus cant fly to europe anyway!

Man o man the Dreamlifter is an incredibly ugly aircraft! not like it was designed for it’s apperance though before anyone bites my head off :diablo:.

Nice selection all the same :).

My thoughts entirely. Yes the LCF is so ugly, but what a catch, all 3 at one airport in one day.

Is the LCF going to make regular trips through PIK does anybody know?
