Shush, you. The US has had their share of technical problems too. It happens to the best of ’em.

The virus was network-wide; it wasn’t limited to the Rafale alone.

Who cares about the Americans in this instance it was the French and like it or not its not a very good thing to happen.

French fighter planes grounded by computer virus

Thats pretty poor really and not what one would expect from a supposed ‘cutting edge’ fighter jet.

Not surprised with that answer 😉

The sanctions were applied selectively against the individuals involved. Even incase of Iran SC applied sanctions selectively against few people and some organizations involved in nuclear activity.

There are few Indian defense organizations (and for that matter Pakistani )which have faced similar restrictions and still do. Do recall how US reacted when it found out an Indian individual who had illegaly transfered militay grade processors to India not in distant past.

Infact just scratch that, i don’t want to awake you from your honeymoon dream. :dev2:

You don’t know what you’re talking about.

YOU ARE WRONG!! Britton/‘Reykjavik-on-Thames’ doesn’t matter to anyone anymore.

Like Moscows opinion and “green lighting” the Iraq war mattered when it came down to it anyway…

Oh please…. sorry thats right .. only the countries that mattered. Like the USA and Britton?

You forget that the USA was the only country pushing the “WMD” issue and was the only country to present “evidence ” to the UN, whih was later proven to be false….

But whats the deaths of a few hundred thousand people to you?.. so long as they dont belong to a “county that matters”

    lol

Ironically the left wants all nuclear weapons to go away under the guise of making the world “safe” again.

You sure about that? I’m very often hearing ‘arguments’ from lefties saying “if we can have nukes then so should everyone else” and “just why should Iran and North Korea not be aloud nukes” etc etc, yeah i know the stupidity is absolutly mindblowingly immense but yeah they do say it all the time 🙂

why doesnt mig pull its resources and get that aircraft going?
with iraniand willing to pay development and other countries wanting this kind of stelthified grippen -it could work.
stealthy tactical fighter- bomber-trainer seems workable.
    damn politics, again.

Thier to busy with thier own Manhattan project to feel the need to rush through fighter jets.

I wonder what the wast superiority by F-22 can be attributed to:
    1) All aspect stealth ?
    2) Superior kinematics ?

Both of those two you mention plus fantastic SA.

Well the Russians didn’t choose to go through with a domestic SMT upgrade, so it’s no surprise that there’s a chance that many of the jets aren’t in full operational capability.

That choice not to upgrade was not made willingly but rather unwillingly through cost grounds.

Doesn’t change the fact the cold war Northern European theatre that the Mig29 was intended to operate in is no longer there.

The Northern European theatre is still there and ready to threaten Russia should Russia feel the need.

The simple fact is that in Russian service the role the Mig29 was purchased for no longer exists.

The RuAF must disagree otherwise why would they claim those numbers and try thier best to achieve those numbers of Mig-29s operational, they need them and they know they still have a mission.

I was told on this thread that Typhoon has NO advantages over Rapter. Below are the statistics of both aircrafts official websites. They manufacturers don’t agree with you boys!

From the F-22 Rapter official website
    Wing Area: 840 sq ft
    Engine Thrust Class: 35,000 lb
    Level Speed: 921 mph
    Total Length: 62.08 ft
    Wing Span: 44.5 ft
    Horizontal Tail Span: 29ft
    Tail Span: 18’10”
    Total Height: 16.67ft
    Track Width: 10.6ft
    Engines: Pratt & Whitney F-119
    Max. Takeoff Weight: 60,000 lb (27,216 kg) Max. External Stores: 5,000 lb (2,270 kg) Weight Empty: 31,670 lb (14,365 kg) Ceiling: 50,000 ft (15,240 m) Crew: 1 G Limit: +9 G First Flight: September 7th 1997

From The Euro Fighter Typhoon Website
    General characteristics
    • Crew: 1 (operational aircraft) or 2 (training aircraft)
    • Length: 15.96 m (52 ft 5 in)
    • Wingspan: 10.95 m (35 ft 11 in)
    • Height: 5.28 m (17 ft 4 in)
    • Wing area: 50 m² (538 ft²)
    • Empty weight: 11,000 kg (24,250 lb)
    • Loaded weight: 15,550 kg (34,280 lb)
    • Max takeoff weight: 23,500 kg (51,800 lb)
    • Powerplant: 2× Eurojet EJ200 afterburning turbofan
o Dry thrust: 60 kN (13,500 lbf) each
o Thrust with afterburner: 90 kN (20,000 lbf) each
    Performance
    • Maximum speed:
    o At altitude: Mach 2+ (2,120 km/h, 1,320 mph)
o At sea level: Mach 1.2
    o Supercruise: Mach 1.1[134]-1.5[135]
    • Range: 1,390 km (864 mi)
    • Ferry range: 3,790 km (2,300 mi)
    • Service ceiling 19,812 m (65,000 ft)
    • Rate of climb: >315 m/s[136][137] (62,000 ft/min[138])
    • Wing loading: 311 kg/m² (63.7 lb/ft²)
    • Thrust/weight: 1.16
    Armament
    • Gun: 1x 27 mm Mauser BK-27 cannon 150 rounds

I will concede that stealth for Euro Fighter is an issue and apart from agility which is a at best a low speed regime because of the body’s ability to withstand G forces, the facts here speak for themselves. Typhoon is faster by some 500mph, better rate of climb, carries more fire power than rapter (twice that of Tornado!) and has a better combat radius.

i dislike being hurranged in public just because i have a different view than our friends across the pond. Where’s the special relationship now??????

Ok this is the second thread you have trolled in a very poor manner, please cease this childlike behaviour.
