The Shuttleworth Hind’s combing is black although the brown of the natural leather is showing through in places.
And cleaning the can of peas?

And waving the cleanest rag in the hangar 🙂
Happy New Year, Jonesy, you tart.

Gary, if you move that shoebox full of fifty pound notes from under the bed you’d have room.
It was good to see faces old and new.
stmterrace, it’s quite simple really, those who contribute shape the site. You put nothing in, so you can’t realistically expect it to reflect your interests unless it’s purely by chance.
Neil, there’s nothing wrong with getting waylaid with a spot of photography. Well, that’s been my excuse for the last 8 years whilst I accumulated sheets of balsa.
Rob
At the time the IWM said this would be future policy – whether it still is………..I hope not!
Happy New Year to all,
Neil
IWM? It’s the RAFM.
Good to see you back Neilly. I last saw you laying oyut the plans for a very large Tempest model in the Astra cinema. Did you get round to building it?
Andy, do you know who’s organising it? It would be really nice if people asked before they used photos marked “All rights reserved”.

Tim, Happy Birthday and Thanks.
hi,
at the open day recently at the MBCC,they said pieces of the Wellington fabric was on sale in the shop, and in March at Shuttleworth in the restoration hangar there was 4 boxes with coverings off G-ACTF,G-AEBJ,G-AKPF,and the Bristol monoplane if anyone wanted any for a donation…regards
jack…
Those fabric sales at Old Warden have paid for the large photos on the hangar walls. Every pound in the pot helps towards providing something to make your visit interesting and informative. Thanks to all who have contributed over the years.
I’m pretty sure that the Wellington was re-covered and had turret(s) added prior to going into the museum so the only provenance of the fabric was gained whilst sitting in the museum.
Edit:
The full history of the Wellington is here http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/documents/collections/69-A-171-Wellington-X-MF628.pdf
