Unfortunately you probably won’t get a great deal of honesty from someone who’s got such low moral standards that they’d carry out this kind of deception. The excuse of innocence can’t be trotted out too many times before people form the impression that these are deliberate deceptions for profit.
Due to the liberal showering of aeroplane debris on Europe and Russia during WW2 the supply of raw material for these cons is seemingly limitless. The unscrupulous will just keep popping up with new ebay accounts each time they’re unmasked. I just hope that people start wising up to these scams and exercise a bit more common sense when buying “relics”.
Andy, your PM bucket’s full.
This business of faking up bits of unidentified scrap with a spurious provenance is really beneath contempt.
Andy, would this be the same seller whose 109 E canopy suddenly acquired a pop-up provenance?
You say that, but I see that the Buchon flew on Saturday. Given the strength of the crosswinds and the Bf 109’s reputation that more were lost in landing/take off accidents during the war than in combat, it seems madness to me that, like them or not, a rare type was flown and displayed in such conditions. I wonder if permission was obtained from the owner, miles away in the USA, before it was allowed to be flown, or, I don’t like to say it, a bit of stubborn bravado on the part of the DX based crew, yes the party should go on if at all possible, but not if there’s the remotest chance of risk to an historic airframe, I wasn’t impressed, I’m glad I wasn’t there to see it happen.
Pete, why don’t you stick to commenting about your area of knowledge and let the Buchon pilot decide how he operates the aeroplane. You weren’t even present so how on earth can you offer an opinion?

Well theres a surprise, after all those posts saying it was to be dug. All those arguments about selling shares in a dig opportunity, you yet again fold. Do you ever stick at anything. This is not a dig or Merkle bashing as you have put it, but you do seem to go on quite a bit, and all you say you are doing never comes off. So IMHO stop broadcasting to the world everything you say you are doing, as nothing you do ever comes of it.
You seem to have stopped broadcasting about your plastic Spitfire, Graham. Did anything come of it?
Two multiple accounts from a banned member smoked out – a better haul than I’d expected.

Mervyn, while you’re here, why not share some photos of your Turkish projects and any parts that you’ve collected?
