I didn’t really think I could sneak this one in past your goodself!
Here is what I know
Well I can solve that in the meantime by posting another !
A machine about which I know very little…..
Fouga CM-100. OH please.
I have to exclude myself from this mystery machine, as Moze has pulled it out of the vaults on a previous occasion. Suffice to say sit is all the more confusing because it looks nothing whatsoever like its exotic siblings !
Yes indeed. Over to you sir.
Palm trees ? er, no.
Here’s an older bird…(few clues here)
No, that’s a Walter Mikron, and she’s the exotic Walraven 4 (PK-SAU) from the Netherlands East Indies.
RAB, on another forum you would get a half-pint for that answer – don’t think anyone else will get it, so over to you.
It’s the Loening (Keystone) Monoduck from 1934.
You’re in the right country…..well known designer.
Well here’s the story –

Posted this elsewhere a while back – let’s see if the regulars here snap it up… (Ickie’s men please refrain) It’s what we call a ‘floater’…..
Latécoère 35, John ?
Well what I actually said was a basic DSLR lens will be much better than those found on bridge cameras, which is absolutely true.
I would respectfully suggest that, unless you are talking about professional quality DSLR lenses ( and there is a world of difference, and several hundred pounds, between those and what comes with the kits), a ‘bridge’ lens such as the one on this Olympus is every bit as good. That particular photo of the ‘lump’ is notable for its consistency of sharpness – look at the corners. None of the kit lenses with my Olympus E510 is anything like as good as this.
In pre-digital days, I bought IXUS APS cameras for myself and the Boss. I chose the expensive top-of-the-range zoom model, she got the base level fixed lens job. Guess who took by far the sharpest pics ??? It’s the bit of glass on the front that counts – forget your megapixels.
I took this at Duxford – my mate who worked for the ‘Scotsman’ paper showed it to their photo editor who was impressed……

I have one of these – the last camera I bought before my DSLR’s – specifically because it has a wide lens. Great camera – you can probably get one about £60 on the Bay.
