Does anyone know why the Swedish A/F took the Hunter (and it looks gorgous in those colours!) when they had the Lansen which was along similar lines and powerplant?

The two seated Lansen was from the beginning designed and intended for reconnaissance and ground-attack. The fighter version with a more powerful engine was introduced as late as 1958.
I believe that the Hunter was an interim solution to fill the gap between the aging J29 Tunnan until J35 Draken was operational.

Sorry Robert for going slightly OT here.

A Pembroke will also appear at the Västerås airshow on sunday, so I will shot a picture af that one as well If I get the chance. I believe this is an ex. RAF Pembroke, bought by Flygexpo 1989, and painted as SwAF TP83. As I understand it, it is one of only two airworthy Pembrokes in the world.

Tunnan and sk60 will make a display at the Jersey Air Display september 9th, mavbe an opportunity for you to see them. http://www.jerseyairdisplay.org.uk/

Do they have an airworthy Draken?

According to the organizer’s programme, there will be a Draken flying on sunday in Västerås.
I will bring the camera, so I can post a picture here if it flies.
