Big grin flying a Stearman in the Hardwick area!
“Remember its a Meteor with 600 BHP rather than I think 1650 BHP Merlin in the MK VIII. It doesnt generate anything like as much heat as a Merlin.”
I would think Meteor will prodce just as much heat as a Merlin at low RPM!
After all you will need just as much power to taxi your replica, so therefore i would expect it to heat up just as much!
“following straight line nav off the GPS “
GPS, really, I thought this was a historic aviation forum?;)
“Idly looking out of my window last May I happened to glance this passing below me.”
Ah, you were overhead Fontenay-Tresigny , when I was there 20 years ago it was a restaurant.
But it’s just a grown up Chippie!! and it is yellow
Just in case Ben manages to get his backside airbourne in it again
We have sick bags for MV this year!!!!!!
first to arrive?
Bod, I’m sure the yellow Harvard got there first!
It is the air over the prop tips exceeding Mach 1.0, the prop like a wing may be less than Mach 1.0 but cause the air to travel faster to produce a sonic boom
As there are still a number of Harvards around there must have been more than a few pilots who didn’t manage to destroy their aircraft, as the Blue Max said, it’s not compulsary!
there’s an operation offering flights in a Harvard out of Sywell and Rochester.
I think you’re about “7” digits too high!
