    ACMI and IR Jammer

Air Weapons Complex has added the details of Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) and IR Jammer on their website: http://www.awc.com.pk/acmi.htm & http://www.awc.com.pk/IRJammer.htm

Stingers were also sold to Pakistan under FMS: http://www.defensedaily.com/progprof/army/stinger.pdf One should dig-up older issues of Janes to find out to exact numbers.

Wow… looks like US CENTCOM should shove these stingers up the nether region 🙂 of the Pak Generals who deny having any stingers left from the Afgan war…

Pakistan Army was also supplied with Stinger missiles (not part of Afghan War) – in fact you can see some images of Pakistani soldiers with Stingers in the book ‘Defenders of Pakistan’ – even today Stingers are part of low-level Pakistani AD (including RBS-70, Anza-I/II, Mistral and various calibre AAA). You should polish-up your knowledge before advising anyone to shove-up anything.

There’s really no way to be sure but evidence found around that area among others, corresponded to Stinger MANPADS. Check pic.

MiG-27ML engine flame out account here,

    http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/History/Kargil/Nachiketa.html

The MiG-21 was shot-down by an Anza-II not Stinger. I have interview of the soldier who fired the missile on tape from a Kargil Show and he mentions that he used Anza-II.

Had it not been for the letter of complaint from the specific original source (from where f-16.net stole it), those “kills” would still hold. The IAF is not interested in Gripens.

Here is the scan of that letter (from the AFM May 2004 issue) showing the letter of Tom Cooper, Zeeshan and editor’s reply: http://www.pakdef.info/temp/paff16letter.jpg (Right click on the link and ‘Save Target As’, since hotlinking is not allowed)

In Pakistan service, J-6s had a total of 12 claimed kills, including Su-7s and a MiG-21, at the expense of 3 planes.

Actually in PAF service the F-6 has six CONFIRMED kills (not to be confused with ‘CLAIMS’) in air combat to only one loss. For F-6 kills: http://www.pafcombat.com/aerial-kills/paf-kills-1971-indo-pak-war.htm For F-6 loss: http://www.pafcombat.com/aerial-kills/iaf-kills-1971-indo-pak-war.htm

BTW Steve regarding the C-130s one small news. Work on the first ex-RAAF C-130E for PAF has started at Greenville. The first aircraft is: Current Registration: N51495 Aircraft Type: Lockheed C130E Serial Number: 4189

The last part of the contract for these C-130s was signed on 14th July 2004.

I am aware that you are not an authority on the PAF, let alone the
PA. someone in the know wouldnt have needed Steve to tell them only 6-7 C-130 were operational from 20 delivered and would be well aware of the Bell helicopter issue he outlined.

    At least 9 C-130B/Es are still in service – serials are 4119, 3689, 4282, 3702, 3751, 3766, 3536, 4148 and 4153 and one L.100-20 nr, 4144.

Among the extensive details given for the operational tank, whatever you call it, is the speed figure.

That figure is from an old issue of Janes and not correct anymore. Al-Khalid’s top speed is 70 km/h: http://www.depo.org.pk/products/hit/alkhalid.htm

(PS. some data given on even the above link is now old, for example the range of LRF, since the brochure distributed at IDEAS 2002 has slightly improved figures which I posted on the net after the defence exhibition).

Usman, I know. I just wanted to say that I copied it from pakdef. Let some conclude what they want. I am busy with search on the net about that radar and not intrested in jokes. Anyway. It was intresting find and I read it with great intrest.

The last lines are by a user named Shakeel Ahmed who makes the factual error of 500MW, this sort of technical error is very easy to catch and should be mentioned when making the post.
