I can’t believe she’s back on Ebay! I still haven’t stopped crying! Laughter or sadness, i’ll let you know…
“Won’t Fly…” No Sh*t!!! I was looking through a book last night when I saw a picture of the ‘Black Buck Vulcans on their farewell flight, XM607, XM612, XM597 and XL391.’ It really is so sad that although she never went to war for real, all she’ll be remembered for is that sad rusting hulk that was flogged on Ebay (possibly twice?) and then smashed to bits by JCB’s because no one could breathe on her without her collapsing into a pile of dust. Lets hope Mr Bateson doesn’t get his hands on any more of our aviation heritage. I’d hate to think what would have happened if he’d have got a Concorde…. ‘Famouus Concorde airliner G-BOA*, decomissioned by BA, won’t fly…….’ 😡
how LONG it would take to scrap – bear in mind that the aircraft would still be accruing fees whilst the process was being completed.
XJ825 was ‘dismantled’ at Waddington in 2 hours…
Goodnight and God Bless Steve.
R.I.P
Why does every single thread about the Vulcan degenerate into this bloody tedious bickering?
I know, is this about the 6th different argument we’ve had about her? I can’t be bothered anymore….
I thought her civillian reg was G-VLCN?
Is that gonna be repeated? I’m gutted i’ve missed that… 🙁
…and every other histric aircraft. It makes me sick to the pit of my stomach. ******* *******! Great Britain, my ****! 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡

Excellent post for a brilliant aircraft! 😉
let’s hope so!!!!!!!!
She won’t be around in fifteen years. Eventually she will come
up for tender and that will be her days over as a complete airframe.
I would love to save her. If I had the money, i’d build her a nice warm hangar and treasure thr last piece of the V force. She should be inside….. 😡

Last news heard
😉
Go on, it’s the latter isn’t it….
I too think this educational promotion of the Vulcan is a bit suspect. I can see it’s worht as a promotional tool but I cant trips of schoolkids on the bus to Bruntingthorpe (or wherever it may be based) for tours. The only real educational exposure it will get is via airshows. In the end though, saying that it is an educational tool is what gets the lottery fund going and thats what they need to do. Lancman put it quite nicely really.
What if (i’m ready to be shot down in flames here) little Jimmy and his classmates are all being taught about the Cold War in their history lesson when Mrs Barnacle leads the class out to the school field where, bloody hell, whats this thing approaching us? XH558 on a crew currency flight, that’s what! She does one low flypast and little Johnny and his mates wet themselves and, straight away want to know more about not just the cold war but our aviation heritage. Off one thunderous flypast….
:diablo:
Or am I talking complete and utter b*****ks?
