I remember the airshow act developed by Yves Duval around 12 years ago using a Broussard to carry a Cri-Cri into the air and after a few passes the Cri-Cri released. It then formated on the Broussard doing barrel rolls round it. Yves was a great innovator and is greatly missed. He was killed in a midair involving two Fouga Magisters.

Thanks for posting the photo Kevin. Brought back happy memories of a great show at Sywell last September.

Anne,
The owners father had the only civil registered Gamecock in the 1930’s. It was eventually wrecked and some parts were salvaged along with a few bits and pieces accumulated over the years. The project is being looked after by a Northamptonshire aircraft maintenance company. It would be magic to see one in the air once more. Fingers crossed.
Cheers,

Thanks to all for the greetings. Had a great day with loads of cards however the wind chill factor out there kept me on the ground. Hope your Rearwin has a cabin heat system Melvyn.

The project does exist and some progress is being made. Do not expect an early conclusion.

The owner of the Miles M18 was the late H.B.(Brian)Iles, an ex-RAF Squadron Leader and enthusiastic Tiger Club member. Along with his wife Pat he regularly flew in the handicap air races organised by the Royal Aero Club. Grand couple.

It was a grand day out at Leicester with loads of visitors all day. The flour bombs certainly made a patch of the grass look as though it had snowed a lot.

Perhaps all the submissions paid off. EASA have now published their final decisions on this consultation and it looks good for the adoption of a UK style restricted PPL right across the EU states which can only be good news. To see more have a look at the EASA website.

Wishing you all a really great New Year in 2005.

For Tiger Moth read Blackburn B2 probably down from Brough. It used to give a nice low show and for Finningley that day it would have been ideal. I well remember that lousy day when the Blue Angels tried to do their flat show in awful visibility and a super low cloud base which caused a galaxy of top brass to swallow their false teeth in horror. Halcyon days…………!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a grand job. A real credit to the Duxford craftsmen (and women) – mind you they are the crafty ones…………..!!!!!!!!!!!!! PC as always.

Just heard that Gillian Shepherd, the MP for South West Norfolk, has written to the Department for Transport on this matter so pressure is still being applied.
A delegation from the PFA, PPL/IR Network and the Royal Aero Club along with GASCo is meeting with the DfT in the very near future to ensure they are fully aware of the implications of the SES charging scheme on GA. The DfT along with the CAA are the only means by which the UK aviation position can be promoted at the necessary level within the European agencies now threatening our destiny. It is essential that they take the concerns of GA into those deliberations.

Hope to be there. It should be a great evening.

Well I would like to see it in the CFS scheme. The Tutor looks gorgeous in its new finish and the Maggie would set it off beautifully.

It really makes sense of he UK position where operation of such aircraft is governed by A8-20 which is the airworthiness and maintenance aspects and CAP632 on the operational aspects.
The position of the FAA local inspector was interesting in that I am certain in the UK a CAA inspector would have intervened to prevent the aircraft from flying until he was satisfied of its airworthiness.
I bet the owner is careful to stay well clear of the USA since the “Feds” must be really ****ed off at his departure despite being asked to stay until he had be interviewed.
What a totally avoidable tragedy.
