    I seem to remember that a Dakota in German markings appeared in ‘The Dirty Dozen’.

    TonyT & Propstrike, thank you for your kind words.
    I did manage to see the 2 Lancasters, but not as planned! Plan A was Sywell & Plan B was the first East Kirkby event. On a trip to East Anglia I was fortunate to see them heading South for the Channel Islands & Goodwood weekend. I was not as close as I would like to have been & the weather was not ideal, but the sight & sound made up for the previous disappointments.

    I am new to the forum & I have joined initially to thank all the very knowledgeable people on here for bringing such a lot of information together regarding this momentous event. Living in rural Worcestershire has it’s good points but the local media do not concern themselves much with aviation matters. So a big Thank You for all the links, comments & photos. Thanks also to the CWHM & the crew of FM213, what a fantastic adventure they have had & the enjoyment they have given to the people of this country is immeasurable. They are true ambassadors to their country. It’s been a summer that will live in my memory for the rest of my life.
