as yet not a single stamp , they are very distinctive though, just hope someone will recognise them
the flat ears have a rivet hole as if a paddle or peddle was on them?
Seems that they did have a few Merlin powered Wellington’s. So there may have been an error in the losses log as to aircraft type, Kev
Just found a 99 Squadron record on the web which list’s the types flown as 1 1A and 1C no mention of the Merlin version?, Kev
I have found a reference on another forum discussing possible errors in Choreley’s losses book
it reads that W5426 (Not 36) crashed at Hapleys (mis spelling of Hopley’s) Horringer
Author thinks codes may be wrong and that LNX Should be LNY
can anyone clear up the details of the story as it seems that this is the aircraft Kev
Cheer’s Graham
Horringer is a distinctive location; could it be this one:

I have some pictures here in more detail of extra numbers on the large piece and close up’s of the black H section
there are a good number of parts to come and any relevent parts will be made available to the Stirling project to provide patterns for any missing link’s in the build , Kev
Thanks to you all I will have another look tonight. I think the last clamp like silver item is from a gun turret.
Not easy to make out but
large part 329o855
black H section cast bar B129295 not 100% on the 1
gret cast T handle 8294021 Kev
Can you try cleaning them up a bit and look for any part numbers?
will give it a go tonight, I think the first 3 bits are Stirling , Kev
Shudy camps is not far from me and I used to work there, There were military huts there at the top of the village (now woodland) They were as far as I know used by a black American unit of engineers or pioneers in the build up to D day it is a fair distance from the old Castle camps airfield . I don’t know if the site was originaly billets for airmen, Kev
Stirling project needs any part of Stirling canopy- coupe framework any size any part or condition , the project has just the pilots escape hatch, also an astro hatch any condition or even part of to use as patterns
PM myself or Jaguar 12 , best regards Kev
Kindly identified by John (12 jaguar ) as one of four handles that secure the rear upper escape hatch on the Stirling. Kev
