Nice panel wiesso! Are the guages original ones to the panel as they look the same vintage?
The gauges are the original ones (late fifties). The panél itself seems to be newly painted. Over the next months I will try to restore or rebuild the missing handles.
Just recently got that mid section of an old de Havilland DH-114 Heron panel.
Lost: some handles and the left top corner (the place for the clock)
I have a few questions i hope some one can clear up for me.
A few years ago I saw a film of the last vist by the last governor to Timor and he got of a plane that looked like a “DeHavilland Heron in Portuguese air force colours”. It was rather quick and did I get the facts right?
There was only one Heron registered in Timor:
CR-TAI Transportes Aereos de Timor

[QUOTE=Consul]According to Cowell’s Heron book:
Could you please submit the proper book title and the publisher?
Thank you in advance!
Thanks to Consul and Thunderbird167 🙂
If it’s military, wouldn’t it be a Devon?
Moggy
Agreed!
[QUOTE=T J Johansen]I was just looking at kits on eBay, and amongst the planes was the old Airfix Heron in Shell Oil colors as G-ANUO. From a quick google I see the plane ended up on a pole at Croydon.
Does anyone have a photo of the plane in the Shell colors?

Was the plane used as a VIP transport, or was it a cargo plane?
It was used as a VIP plane.
[QUOTE=markclayton]Thought I should make mention here of www. flickr.com just in case some of you hadn’t yet discovered it. It’s a massive online photo album, which includes thousands of [mostly contemporary] aircraft photographs:
Take a look at these samples:
