‘Third place was taken by Herman Salmon in the Cosmic Wind plane “Slick” (race number 10) with a speed of 158.8 mph (256 km/h). The Cosmic Wind was entirely constructed of metal. Flying a Ka-6E glider in the very dry and hot Summer 1978 over Northern Germany with a nearly constant thermic updraft of 2 m/s in horizontal flight.
