Old info! Is anyone here actually and currently doing a PPL, Mogs? 😉 😉 😉
Where in the JAR PPL syllabus did I have to do 5 hours on instruments?
Try buying a Cub share for a £1000 and flying for £30/hr. Not ever going to happen! What gets me too is this mentality that having a syndicated aircraft rather than a rented one saves you much money. All those hidden extras add up!
3 hrs Maule time this week. Happy cookie 🙂

Indeedy. I know two people personally who have had their inital class 2 over the last 18 months or so and subsequently had a heart problem highlighted. They were both under 40. Without the medical it would have gone undetected for years.
Okay so it may scupper your flying for a while but it’s a good insurance policy.
Planning warbird project number 2 then? 🙂
RA, best bet is to drop an e or phone the 3 Rs (part of the royal aero club) who will probably hold records for this.
Tomcat, is that the Beech they were restoring a few years back at Sywell then? I recall they were rapidly running out of cash and appealing for large corporate sponsors. How did the story evolve for there?

There some (demo) archive footage of old King’s Cup races on the Pathe website.
Search for Kings Cup and preview the results. Ignore the silly checkout procedure you wont be charged. Registering is painless.
Love the Pathe commentary. So corny e.g. following would not be out of place “Hello and here comes Tubby “Tubs” Thomson in his Miles Gemini – he’s a porker alright – but his aircraft manages just the same!“
With millions of websites out there, you can’t remove every copy. Let it live.

Presenter is Alain de Cadenet.
Your Gipsy will run happily on unleaded mogas surely? If you’re into more rarified forms of fuel, Sywell do 80 UL (a more refined form of mogas)
The only arms in a Chippy are the pilot’s 😉
Hmm, who scanned the photo out of this weeks Flight Intl then? 😉
If you read the story, the FB’s larger wing slows the aircraft by a fraction yet allows it to carry significanty more or outsized payload and increase it’s range by a claimed 300%. The aircraft also shares 85% of the FA’s components.
You gotta admit, in terms of single-solutions for future multiple roles it makes some sense on paper.
I think each happened about 3 or 4 days apart? I’m sure the assessors will be fair.
The problem is how a club profitably continues in the short-term
We’re quite happy keeping these machines local to the UK and in particular in Warwickshire hands 😉
HP, how about selling the Robin, getting a Maule that can do touring AND stripping? Difference sort of fun but fun none the less. Skirt twitch factor?
Yeah predictable answer I know :p
Hi, this’ll take you direct:
