Quartermaster Stores
Phew!
I have a sight test coming this Thursday and was beginning to worry! 😀
Hi vintage, were you there on Saturday?
Could have sworn you were – saw someone like you looking at the Chippy and C421 – I was nearby chomping a rather expensive bacon butty at the time.
Husky
Well, all the lines of a Cub yet with a 180hp engine and able to lift more as well. Very tidy panel as photographed. yet when I approached the slaesman, he didn’t seem interested. How are they going to sell any?
The Citabria range now again on sale offer all the performance of the Cub for less oney and more speed with the same spec. Know which one I’d go for 🙂
MASH and Denis Kenyon’s H300
On the point fo displaying helis, G-MASH was there. Bit of classic n’est pas?
But boring to dispaly though. However, Denis Kenyon practicalyl does loop sin his H300. Party trick? Ever have a girlfriend dance round her hangbag? Dennis does this with his heli! End of one front skid in the grass and around and around he goes 😎
Aerostars
Now, the Aerostars have to be seen to be believed. Originally a 4-ship 3xYak50 and one Super Yak52, they have expanded by to further Yak50s. I think the pilots are ex Red Arrows. Apply that display knowledge, plus tighter turning circles and rumblin’ radials…well, it beats the Reds hands down! A must see for this year.
Heads-up peeps.
I’ve created a photo album of the photos I took last Saturday at North Weald. (Click on the thumbnail for the full-sized version)

If the place were dead (like it almost was) and the air display still went ahead, it’s well worth the entrance fee in my opinion 🙂 The Yaks and Sukhoi were stunning, as was “Mad” Dennis Kenyon in his helicopter. Even Moggy might approve on this last point
Xavier is not dispaying however Wil Curtis is in the Su. Go to see the Aerostars! Fantastic! I believe thes eguys are ex-Red Arrows. Their displays do all the stuff hawks do plus more, all to the tune of rumblin’ radials. Most cool 🙂
Aloso go to see nutter Denis Kenyon fly the Hughes 300. Your eyes will pop out.
..and the Yak 11….well, it came out fo nowhere and woke areveryonbe up.
Show itself – it’s moved so can’t go an d look at the C54s. Attendance is down this year. It was quiet today…
Photos later when I’m in the office

Lots of light aircraft and helicopters on static display and up for sale. That’s the mainstay of the Aerofair. If that’s not your bag then you may get bored. After all, it’s a GA exhibition.
There’s usually a good, small air display at the end of the event.
You can have a look around the ‘weald a/c e.g. rotting Daks, Mitch, Cat. Bid sad really.
The Squadron is cheap and good for hot tea on a mucky day.
..and just to prove Moggy C doesn’t hate ALL choppers! 😀
I got one from Duxford!

Natch, I doubt anyone here can!
Moggy…no! Red Bull contains an extract from a cow’s stomach (taura..sommat or other). Yuk 😮
Anyway, you’re rest/waking hours are dodgy enough without it being caffeine induced 😉
RB should have gone for the “alternate” paint scheme used on their sponsored Sauber cars. A lot nicer with the dark blues reflecting the Vix’s Navy heritage.

Just had a researcher (we’re pro-spotters yaknow) tell me it’s an Enstrom…that rotorhub is risky so they can’t be used for public transport flights…and they’re easy to nick.
Er..thanks!
In aviation art, there are paint jobs which are boring, poor taste or rather good (the blue robin is a rather guddun). Very rarely do peeps get it right.
This is awful and makes the Vix look like a can of red bull, not the military machine it is. 😮 😡
Obviously a can of red bull mght give you wings, but not a sense of good taste 😉 😀
