Other Learn to Fly guides are available 😉
You may want to read this speech regarding EASA’s function. The CAA will become more an instigator of policy rather than a creator.
You can still still a fair bit out even from the aisle seat (or so I seem to recall). The pitch used for the emergency exit seats are a dream. Don’t forget to stretch out and relax 🙂
I saw her a few ago parked up at Vannes. Where’s she based now?
With a small amount of mod trickery, a more appropriate signature 😉 🙂

Looks like a combination perhaps of flaring a little too high but also a good crosswind causing the Lanc to weather **** then almost ground loop. Nicely recovered. I bet the pilot felt relieved! afterward!
Now you chaps don’t go giving that nice Mr Dewhusrt ideas about what he could add to a Skyranger :p
What type of Skyline, the old R34 shape GT-R for example?

Stapleford I guess would be your nearest licensed airfield from North Weald? Having just looked on my map, it is but the width of a gnat’s nadger away. These things are importnant when you are 16 and have limited transport options.
Moggy is correct – Google reveals Skysport do a PPL from North Weald in a Pup 150. The rates appear comparable to training in a Piper Warrior, but in a more attractive aeroplane. My guess is that because NW is unlicensed you have to go to Stapleford and let the wheels touch the tarmac there before you can commence your lesson.
Tips? Have money. Have determination. Read and re-read up on your next flying lesson.
Cessna 150
Small, underpowered, sluggish, makes ice, high-wing so poor visibility looking out. Not much character about it. Seems to hang around flying clubs forever so I suppose that is one good thing to be said for it. A Room 101 execution would bring in a host of newer and better types.
edit: erm off-brief that choice not being military and all. The Tiger Moth suggestion did it. My excuse? There’s a 150 at Halfpenny Green painted in USAAF colours. 😮
I was always taught that it was a small letter ‘d’ EXCEPT at the start of a sentence..
As in….
The de Havilland Mosquito attacked Amiens…..
De Havilland Mosquito’s attacked Amiens ……..
Ken
Nope, that would be “De Havilland Mosquitos attacked Amiens ……..” 😉
