Title edited, hopefully you may get a few more clicks. Perhaps RPSmith knows someone? Good luck Elliot.

For the UK, there are very slim chance with FlyBe and of the current/former Atlantic group companies at Coventry (also including Highland). That is about it. These days you need to have had a well-paid job before switching to a second career

A trial lesson will explore the effects of controls, which is basically the first lesson any PPL does. If you want to do a PPL, let the instructor know because he may get many through who just want to go on a jolly and fly over their house. The lesson is loggable.

Assuming you have a two-seat Cessna 152 booked. Can you upgrade to a Robin 200 for a fiver more? Trust me with low wing, bubble canopy given a fab view and stick controls, you’ll enjoy the Robin more. But given the origins of my name, I am biased 😀 The Robins are also a good 20 years younger than the Cessna.

Hey, I take you are flying at Leeds-Bradford? Who are flying with, Multiflight or LFS?

    Hi

The question is too open-ended for there are many different type of pilot roles. For example. BA 747 captain, glider tug pilot, PPL instructor, FO for a small regional turboprop operator. You’re potentially looking at range of £10000-100000!

Have a browse of http://www.ppjn.com to see who is paying what for the airlines.

    Hi,

This all depends on whether you are taking English savings and converting it into Canadian dollars. I guess it may work out quite favourably that way given the tax and economic differences.

Just browsing one PPL school that deals with International students in CA, I see the dual rate is about $140 per hour dual in a 152. At two CA$ to the £, that’s £70 per hour. You’re looking at £100-120 typically here in the UK.

By the way you only need to look at Coventry airport to see local councils don’t lie down; I doubt this is truly over.
