] Report To the Congress: Military Power Of P.R.China
After 58 pages, I’m scared sleepless. Not.
Just wondering:
On the positive side, do these losses count as air kills in the pilots’ records?
First, I seriously hope none of the pilots is significantly wounded in this crash.
Second, the first time I see this news on TV (BBC), my first impression is: it reminds me of when I was playing the OFT (Operation Fighting Tiger) add-on for the computer game Falcon 3.0.
(Except, of course, this crash is real, not virtual.)
OFT adds the F-2 Viper Zero and the Hokkaidou (Japan) theatre to the F3.0 series.
In the Hokkaidou theatre, to (attempt to) avoid a full-scale conventional war between Japan and Russia, the OFT player must comply with some ROE (rules of engagement).
But chaotic players like me find ways to destroy Russian units, such as blowing up Russian ground and surface units, and shooting down Russian air units… without violating the ROE.

In 2005 January, in Si Chuan Province, a 31 years old military geek (like us) who likes to photograph military bases and vehicles, was convicted of spying for Taiwan, fined RMB 10,000, and jailed for 12 years. 8(
In 2004 June, he was arrested.
In 2003, he reportedly gave military information and photos to another Netter, who was reportedly a Taiwanese spy.

Fascinating. Didn’t know this.

Battlefield 2: Armored Fury
Id like to see if someone has a recording or some link to a video of a A-10 and Su-25 Dogfight or something.
FWIW, according to screen caps in

the virtual A-10 in the computer game BF2:AF has the tail markings “ME”, “25”, and “790516”.
“ME” is not a real USAF tail code, AFAIK.
BTW, as seen on the road sign in

does the real Interstate 71 have a “Red Ridge Ave” exit?

] Hmmm reminds me of the line from flight of the Intruder….
Love the novel, because an A-6 driver, who was over there in Nam, wrote it.
Tolerate the computer game, despite its primitive graphics.
Dislike the movie ending.
