] Actually, it appears her rank really is Captain
Clarification: When I wrote “captain” (note lower case), I meant the literal translation of the her position “kichou”,
http://dic.yahoo.co.jp/bin/dsearch?index=00997800&p=%B5%A1%C4%B9&dtype=1&stype=1&dname=2na&pagenum=1
although her rank coincidentally is O-3 or Captain (note upper case).
For comparison, in the navy (no, not The Village People), the officer who commands a ship can be called “captain” even when her/his rank isn’t O-3.
Recommend you read the F-2 and FS-X threads in this forum.
Also the book “No- to ieru Nihon” (“Japan can say no”), preferably the original Japanese version by Ishihara Shintarou (now Toukyou mayor) and Morita Akio (Sony co-founder, now RIP), not the official (and mellowed) English version by Ishihara Shintarou.
Also^2 the book “The Keys to the Kingdom: The FS-X Deal and the Selling of America’s Future to Japan” by Jeff Shear. Doubleday, 1994, 307 pages.
I read these and other books about the F-16 and FS-X/F-2, back when I was playing the F-16 flight sim Falcon 3.0 (not 4.0) and its add-ons.
As you probably knew, Japan was on the course of T-2 > F-1 > T-2 CCV > FS-X > F-2, before the Bush (Senior) administration practically r_ped, eh, re-negotiated the FS-X work-share and forced the F-16 on Japan, which IMO was a dumb idea maximus. >8(
My dumb question of the week, WRT the Q-5:
What/why are those red half-circle marks on the wings and sides?
I don’t have the game either, but I’m keeping track, off and on, of the vehicles in it and its add-ons: Special Forces, Euro Force, and Armored Fury; if just because its forces include the PLA (s_cks).
And I’ve been writing, off and on, about them in the Real World Vehicles FAQ, as seen at
http://faqs.ign.com/objects/677/677882.html
http://www.cheathappens.com/show_download.asp?id=18554
if just because I was disappointed by the Real World Vehicles FAQ that someone else wrote for Battlefield Vietnam.
(Yes, what with gawking at virtual military aircraft, I’ve no life.) 8b
The Q-5 is in the Armored Fury add-on, AFAIK.

Not a wreck (I wish).

Also wooden mock-ups of ordnance.

That’s a screen cap of a virtual Miss 10262 Red.
Is she in BF2 also?
Anyway.
I’m looking for a photo of the real Miss 10660 Red.

14 February 2006:
First JASDF female captain (“kichou” = captain or main pilot of aircraft, not necessarily rank) of C-1 medium transport.
Captain SATOU Kanae (35). (Her rank is coincidentally O-3.)
2nd Yusou Koukuutai, based at Iruma AB, Dasaitama Prefecture.
Born in Koube, Hyougo Prefecture, and was working as an OL in Toukyou for two years, but joined the JASDF after the 1995 Koube earthquake.
About 50 recruits in her class, two female recruits only. The other C-1 female pilot bought the farm when her C-1 crashed into sea near Tottori Prefecture, in 2000 June.
JASDF also has female main pilots of SAR heloes and planes, but Satou Ichii is first female main pilot of heavier aircraft.
PRC vs ROC, circa 1950.

Is “10660” a real PLA/PLAAF/PLAN serial number?
Haven’t found a photo of the real 10660 Red yet, but the
closest that I found is a photo of the real 10661 Red, at
