AFAIK, from reading mags and Websites, that conflict was just restricted on the ground only.
Up to hundreds of PLAAF aircraft were lined up at front-line airbases near the border, but they didn’t do sh_t. 8(
ISTR a claim that once, a few Vietnamese MiGs took off, and in return, the PLAAF scrambled tens of aircraft into the air for a “thousand points of light” effect on Vietnamese GCI radar screens. The Vietnamese got the message, and didn’t much CAS/BAI the PLA grunts.
OTOH, Vietnamese ZSU-23-4s on the ground very effectively, eh, perforated PLA-occupied villages. 8(

Probably Qian Dao Hu, or Thousand Islets Lake, a tourism spot.

I remember this place name because, back in the 1980s or 1990s, a boatload of Hong Kong or Taiwanese tourists were robbed and killed there. TV news footage showed the boat was full of bullet holes. 8( Later, the Gong An (public security = police) arrested and, eh, processed several criminals.

Yeah, I’m sure the South Vietnamese were just thrilled when their NVA and Viet Cong “liberators” came rollin’ into town.

I haven’t forgotten the February-March 1979 China-Viet Nam unpleasantness either. 8P

F-117 has aluminum frames and skins, except for the aft fuselage which is titanium.　Waviness is indicative of an old metallic airframe.

Probably some modellers’ dream job. 8)

That is not an F-7II. It is either a genuine F-113 (MiG-21F-13) or less likely F-7I.
