Two pilots of an RF-4C surveillance aircraft were killed Friday, after the 40-year-old plane crashed into a mountain near Imsil, North Jeolla Province, during a routine training mission, the Air Force said Friday.

Lockheed Martin Awarded High-Power Microwave Energy Weapon Contract

ORLANDO, FL, November 2nd, 2010 — Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] received a $230,000 U.S. Air Force contract to define requirements for a weapon that uses high-power microwave energy beams instead of explosives to take out enemy electronic systems.
The Non-Kinetic Counter Electronics Capability (NKCE) contract will lead to a new type of weapon that will destroy electronic equipment without endangering personnel.

ROC Minister of National Defense and ROCAF command chief of staff announce, despite its horizontal stabiliser and spare parts problems, ROCAF F-5E/F will delay its retirement to 2019.
Procurement for 60 advanced trainers originally scheduled to begin in 2014 for six years, is delayed to 2019.
F-5E/F total flight time drops to 6,000 hours, and pilots to 12 hours (probably per month).
Because of the serviceability problem, some ROCAF Academy graduates are directly sent to IDF squadrons.
