Hi
Just wondered if anyone knows when an A380 is due at Manchester any time soon and at what time?
Manchester is my closest airport and i havent been fortunate enough to catch one yet but would love to see one and get some pics!!
Thanks 🙂
Would Manchester be on any of the routes that Emirates, Singapore and Qantas fly to?
I know QF only fly to heathrow.
Nice one… look forward to seeing QF 380’s on my next jaunt to Heathrow.
Hey SuperMario… notice your location..Coogee.. nice one, I lived in Randwick a few years ago and the Coogee Bay Hotel was my watering hole.:D
Lucky it’s not your watering hole anymore !!! alot “Poo” has gone down there lately !!!!
I have to say, i am liking the martin air livery !!!!
for reference it is rego VH-OQC, should be fligh QF31
Aside from the US/European battle, the A380 may have another problem.
Security features like survellance and telecoms equipment, also EMP protection.
from the VC-25 wiki site
The airplanes (vc-25) can also be operated as a military command center in the event of an incident such as a nuclear attack. Operational modifications include aerial refueling capability and anti-aircraft missile countermeasures. The electronics on board are connected with approximately 238 miles (383 km) of wiring, twice that of a regular 747. All wiring is covered with heavy shielding for protection from an electromagnetic pulse in the event of a nuclear attack. The planes also have electronic countermeasures (ECMs) to jam enemy radar, flares to avoid heat-seeking missiles, and chaff to avoid radar-guided missiles. All small arms and ammunition stores not under the physical possession of the Secret Service on board the VC-25s are stowed and secured in separate locked compartments each with a different locking mechanism by the Secret Service for added security. Many of the VC-25’s other capabilities are classified for security reasons.
The A380 is heavy as it is, will all the extra features make it too heavy?
I know on aussie domestic (and most probably international) aircraft they practice responsible service of alcohol. mainly for this reason.
Definatly a good idea, cut the booze when they are too tanked and you can avoid the law suits
Ok I understand the bit where the pasengers are in the air en route. But I have scenes of ground based chaos in my imagination. Check in times will be increased to allow for the extra time taken to process the crowd. Of coursr that will not be highlighted when the cheap fares are flogged.
if they were doing this sort of processing, i am sure they would have to organise arrivals and departures at airports where people trafic is at it’s lightest.
Imagine 2 all economy A380’s arriving at the same time, along with one or 2 regular a380’s, throw in about 4 – 5 747’s 6 777’s and a few A330’s and A340’s and you will have chaos !!!!
that is worst case scenario though
LOL good one cloud 9.
I have another head on shot of OQC that shows more of a wing span, let me find it and i will post it.
That’s a good catch with the two beasts in the one shot
Yeah i know, there were actually 4 A380’s at sydney that day VH-OQA/B/C and Singapore’s SKB were all in town.
