Part of the conversation mentioned that it is still up for sale at offers over £500,000 as DHA can’t afford to operate it.

I heard a couple of people talking whilst at Kemble and as far as they knew it is intended to go to Austria to join the rest of the Red Bull fleet.
I hope this is not the case.

If i was ‘Porky’ Bannister then i would take my chances and take Concorde supersonic the length of the country, so Britain would hear and feel her go out with a bang.

Sounds like your video is playing in long play mode. See if you can alter the tape speed to short play, or vica versa. I have 2 video machines that are supposed to automatically change from one setting to another but there are occasions when i have to do it manually.

Perhaps BA are sending one to Barbados so they have a drug smuggling vehicle that will outrun anything the U.S coastguard have. The yanks have chopped the wings off of a Starfighter and fitted wheels with a view of getting the land speed record back. Perhaps they wil fit floats to Concorde!

The one going to Intrepid will be scrapped within 10 years. It is due to moored next to the Intrepid on it’s own floating platform. After a few years of floating in the lovely sea air it will rot, then the yanks will will say that it is owned by BA therefore the preservation costs are down to them, BA will say no we donated it to you it’s your job. By the time all this arguing has come to an end Concorde will be ready for the breakers.

If i remember right the Yanks didn’t want Concorde and spent years trying to get it banned. It was them that put the block on it really taking off so i think they should not get one at all.

Old Fart, Do you have details of where this is happening and who owns it all?

You mention G-FURY parts at Colchester. How much of that airframe survives and what is it’s future? Possible rebuild to fly?

I think as in purest warbird it has to be P-51D Twilight Tear. She is the only warbird operating in her original markings from her original base.

Most probably the Blackburn Beverly that was the biggest thing outside and visible from everywhere. It was broken up and the cockpit section is in hanger 1 at DX.

I have it and it’s good, but my favourite is the 8th one as the layout is better and the maps are clearer. I think the Bomber Command book has been a little crammed. Even though it ain’t small. If your into that sort of thing then it’s worth getting. Keep your eye open at aerojumbles and the like as i got mine new and sealed for £30.
