Keep on posting them Yak 11. It reminds me of my ride.
DIGBY you say that i should stay home with the kids. I am one of those that hand over cash donations to the likes of the Blenhiem society, the Mark Hanna Fellowship and Sally B. Cash that as far as i’m concerned would be wasted in having to pay for kids to enter. My brothers behaviour was not down to parenting but to the fact that they hate aeroplanes and because it was a family outing had to put up with airshows. As far as i can see a childs interest in airshows does not develope until they reach early teens. Earlier than that, they get bored and want to play up causing parents to miss the action in order to entertain their boredom. I’ve been mad about aviation since before i could walk but i never started going to airshows until i was 12, as my father thought any younger and i wouldn’t appreciate it. Unfortunately my brothers came along and my parents decided it had to become a family outing to which my brothers hated. It drives me mad to see puchchairs being pushed around when the contents haven’t got a clue as to what is going on around them and the noise of the jets starts them crying. Either leave the wife at home with them or if she likes the airshows drop the kids off at the inlaws.
Unfortunately DIGBY North Weald market doesn’t have any aviation related stalls. That’s why i don’t waste my time with them and leave them to the sad old famillies. As for me being an ankle biter, of course i was but after watching fathers days, including my own, at airshows ruined because they have a screaming little oyk tagging on to their ankles and mine will be staying at home until the time that they can drive themselves. My brothers completely ruined my early days at airshows.
They’re new policy is for the bric-a-brac stall for the family and not the aviation related stall. It’s to be more appealing to famillies. As far as i’m concerned famillies should stay at home or if they want bric-a-brac then go to the saturday market in the high st not our airshows. We go to airshows for aviation, not stuffed bloody toys and other things for those irritating ankle-biters. Leave them at home.
Is that G-WULF?
I couldn’t make it in the end, next year i must get there.
Does anyone know if Kennet will be accessable over the weekend?
I’m going on sunday, i keep saying i’ll go every year and never do it, so this year i am!
I just missed a load of these on ebay. There was a B-17, B-24, B-29 and a Catalina all in 1/32 scale.
You obviously haven’t had a TVR then dezz.
Tequila, Vodka, RedBull. My fridge is full of the stuff.
It’s ‘kin’ fantastic.
As for the idea of Reno, that would be impressive. I don’t know how true it is but i overheard down at Hurn that she costs around £6500 an hour to run. As long as she flies who cares what colour she wears. Could be pink and green spots for all i care as long as she flies.
The only thing i’ve noticed is the memorial to Marcus Edwards has not been replaced. When i spoke to the people at Hurn they told me that would never be removed no matter what colour she wore.
Thanks for that. Wow i think she looks fab.
Where’s this photo then?
