Evening all!
Can anyone tell me the status of the Dove 8 G-ARSN/G-LIDD which served with the Irish Air Corps as 201.It was sold to Australia and operated as Dove Air in NSW, is it still flying ?
Many thanks for any help.

Hi Tony,
The Dove 8 in question is C/N04525, now registered VH-OBI, it is currently stored in the WW2 liberator hangar at Tocumwal in NSW and has not flown since 2006

I hold myself up as a shining becon of stupidity that once again proves always google before you post!

The Lynyrd Skynyrd crash was a Convair CV-300
there you go, I always thought it was a Viscount… :stupid:
Devon NZ1804, incomplete engines, was purchased by me from Wanaka Transport Museum some years back. Now dismantled and stored with P Hindon at Ashburton Airport NZ. Fuselage of NZ1820 now with me and stored indoors as part of Aeroview Aviation Collection. Hope this info is useful. Also worth noting ZK XNZ, owned by P Hindon, was airworthy but hasn’t flown for several years.
Hi Aeromedia,
thanks for the updates, I was reading a couple of you old threads on another forum last week. I would love to get some updates and photos of 1820 and 1804 on our site. P.M me if you have anything to put up.
Cheers, Dan

Hi Guys
Anyone got any Dove/Devon related restorations going at the moment?
Complete Aircraft, Cockpit’s, anything! we would love to hear all about them.
Regards, Dan
There were a couple of Dove/Devons at Wanaka in NZ some years ago in the “museum” next to the airfield. Are they still there and if so might they be a source of spares as they didn’t look like “flyers”.
i Believe one of the Devons could be close to flying again, they were chasing FCU’s for it a little while ago. as for the other i dont know, I havent done much chasing up on the NZ Devons yet, still sorting out where all the Aussie ones are.
Cheers Dan.
There have been a number of Doves dying in Australia recently -can any of those be a source or spares?
Hi David,
Most of them died due to a lack parts and or money, there are a lot of parts available and the guys chasing the brake bags have enough to just about build another Dove, but no servicable brake bags much to their frustration.
Cheers Dan.
VH-EOB Devon. It is still in Mackay/Sarina, Qld. Think it now resides on a plinth at Sarina. I Know Emmet O’Brien had plenty of spares in 2012. I don’t know who the owner is tho’ 🙁
Hi Bleeming,
if you could confirm where EOB is it would be much appreciated. I have been try to Contact Emmet O’Brian but the number I found in the phone book just rings out if you have contact details could you PM me please.
Cheers, Dan
Good read
Do you have any part numbers?
I will get back to you
