    RE: QANTAS and JOHN TRAVOLTA

Yeah, I recall reading about John Travolta’s 707, not sure if it was in Airliner World or not.
Anyone know any other famous/celebrity pilots?
I have a vague recollection that one or two of the Royal family occassionally take the controls when flying.

    Great pics Monster 500.
I have some friends who have flown a couple of times MAN – BKK return via Dubai and they highly recommend Emirates.
I hope to travel Emirates in the not too distant future, have flown Sri Lankan before (sister company?) and they were excellent.

The MD11 is one of my all-time favourites, albeit I have never been able to fly on one. I only hope I get chance before most operators withdraw for freighter conversion.
My next holiday will be in September flying MAN – KUL on Malaysian 744.
Maybe next year I will work out a trip somewhere on the MD11. Anyone know what wide-bodies Garuda fly out of Gatwick to Jakarta?

hmm, so many to choose from but I’d go for ANA B777-300.
I also think the Airbus house colours look great.

    RE: B777

I flew my first 777 with BA in January LHR to NRT.
It was pretty impressive, a very smooth flight with comfy seats and almost seamless take off and touch down.
The 747-400 return flight was just as good but probably edged it due to getting one of the window economy seats at the very back where the fuselage narrows. This meant it was a row of two seats and not three so could stretch my legs down the side for 13 hours.
Plenty of nice freebie snacks on both legs including pot noodles on the return!
A340 remains my favourite wide-body to date though. Flew Air France CDG – BKK return in 1999 which was superb. I was even able to have a couple of cigarettes in the galley areas!
