Saw it and was totally enthralled! That’s dedication and enthusiasm for you! If they have the money and want to do all that, then only WE can benefit. Just think what other gems may be lying somewhere buried, just waiting their turn to be unearthed and restored to fly. Hopefully a type that was peviously thought to be extinct, like a Whitley or something?

I have known Robert for years, first meeting him when he worked for Dowty’s at Staverton in the ’60s. This is still a terrible shock and this dear friend will be sorely missed. I last saw him at the Coventry air show last year, and never thought we would all suffer this sudden loss. A true enthusiast and gentleman.
May you meet with your idols in the sky!My heart-felt condolences to his family.

It is such a shame that every time they talk about getting replacement aircraft, they just cannot afford them. They were going to get F-5Es, then ex RNZAF Skyhawks, then something else and still the last few F-5As soldier on. I was there in 1980 – wonderful people and Air Force. At one time they painted the F-5As with black noses to make them look like F-5Es!! Does anyone have any pubicity material on their “Blue Diamonds” Aerobatic Team, or know if they still fly?

Here’s what spectators have to put up qith at the moment at LGW.(These were taken this morning)

Thanks for sharing this dismal scene with us Dave. This is a BAA disaster for spotters! Oh well, back to standing on the approach, I suppose?

Thanks for that! Kids with ‘attitude’ wasting forum space, when someone asks a sensible question, we can do without!

Amazing, Heathrow Parking have e.mailed me back already and regret that the viewing terrace is still closed. Looks like this was(VERY) old information that they hadn’t updated. Sorry to have got everyone’s hopes up.

Thanks very much Kev! Why can’t all replies be positive. I may just pop round to Chris’ school and have a word with his teacher!

I would like to come also, if the weather’s okay. I’m also in Swindon. Does this mean you can get us ramp access for photos?

Some of us shouldn’t even been contributing to this Forum during work time, let alone making non-related work calls! Would prefer to discreetly ask an expert that might know!

Its worth emailing them to find out! They take about 5-7 days to reply to you, but they do reply in the end. 🙂

Thanks I HAVE e.mailed them, but no response as yet!

Kemble have just changed their ‘smaller open day’ to a full-blown Battle of Britain -type show on 12th September, in addition to their June show. 😎

This is a former T-6 Texan mocked up for the film Tora, Tora, Tora. It’s civil reg was N15798 and this photo looks like it has just been repainted prior to being shipped to New Zealand.
