Shouldn’t the URL be: http://bac1-11.fotopic.net/
This is a fibreglass replica according to the news section of the latest issue of Aeroplane Monthly. And a nice one it is too, according to the article several of these replica’s have been or are being made using computer and original drawings. Would be nice to have some of these distributed in major collections around the world.
Cheers

If this is a replica, it’s VERY convincing. Here is the original MM9546 in the Vigna di Valle Museum. The only difference I can immediately see is the lack of the aerial behind the cockpit. Otherwise I would be totally convinced!
Hi Adrian,
So how was the display?
Did you meet the Sarang crew..?
Yes indeed and they all signed one of their brochures for me. They said that the Dhruvs would not fit inside an IL-76, so they hired an An-124 to take them to Berlin, then flew over to Biggin Hill. Today they should have transitted up to Waddington, but said they would have also done Kemble Air Day next weekend….if only they had been invited! After Waddington, they do RIAT, then Farnborough where the An-124 will come in and pick them up.
Shame on you !!!!
Su-30MKIs, not Su-27s.
Please keep up at the back !! 😎
Ken
PS – and although there were Il-76’s at Waddington – what most of us saw were mainly Il-78MKI tankers.
Now, let’s not be Candid about this, they’re all Flankers, aren’t they? You’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all!!
Anyway, here’s one of my shots of the Sarang team at Biggin Hill on Saturday.
Very nice to meet all the pilots at Biggin Hill on Saturday. Indian Air Force Su-27s + IL-76s in UK last year, Sarang Team this year…maybe the Suriya Kiran aerobatic team next year??
I see they fly the Dhruv. To save any emabarresment does anyone know how this is pronounced?
I believe it’s pronounced ‘Drew’.
Sir we will be flying down from berlin where we are performing in ILA 08. You can see us perform in Biggin Hill, Waddington, Fairford or Farnborough.

Sarang Team
How nice for a team member to log into the forum and reply! Excellent and I look forward to seeing you at Biggin Hill, Fairford and Farnborough. Where is your support aircraft going in UK? (IL-76?)
Many thanks Martin, those are great. However, with greatest respect, the first photo is technically not “Simon’s Sircus”, but a formation of 892 Squadron Sea Vixens with the old squadron insignia on the tail when embarked in HMS Hermes. “Simons’ Sircus” wasn’t formed until three weeks after the squadron has disembarked to RNAS Yeovilton and the markings were changed and they were given ‘VL’ codes.
,have you got the photo of all us standing alongside 313 ? I have,BEST WISHES MARTIN JONES
Please can you scan and post it Martin?
Many thanks
Adrian

Hi James,
PM sent!
Have you tried contacting The Helicopter Museum at Weston-Super-Mare:
http://www.helicoptermuseum.co.uk/index.htm
They’ve got two Sycamores and have just traded a third with the Belgian Museum for an Alouette II. They may have a spare or know where you can find one?
its the early RN colours
What ‘early RN colours’? As far as I know as soon as she was converted to a TT.18 and joined FRADU, the colours never changed. My earliest photo of her was taken at Yeovilton in 1973 in the standard grey with black/yellow TT stripes underneath.
Thanks for posting those Cliff. Incidentally, the Meteor F4 in the hangar appears to have a photographer inside its engine!!;)
Who?
How could you Pete….’Mr.Spitfire’ to you!!;)
