The fate of the last Jag Airframes
by the way, did’nt these Jags go through a comprehensive upgrade program sometime back ? and any idea whats the status of the flying hours left on those airframes ? they could probably look at selling those jets off to some user that does’nt have enough money to buy new airframes..
The aircraft have little flying time left as there is no depth maintenance support and most airframes are extended by the maximum to the latest possible date of October. All the kites will go to Cosford to become training airframes that are more relevant to modern combat aircraft!!

The backseater in “Y” was one of the last erks of 6 that will get a trip. He took up my camcorder and got some stunning video!! 😉 He loves the picture!!
Last RAF Operational Jags
9 Jags are flying to Scotland late afternoon and will flypast / land Lossie. They will return on Thursday (no doubt through low fly areas if they can). 😉
On Friday and Monday, it has been discused that the “6” formation will be flow over Coningsby. I am sure, weather permitting this will happen.;)
Very Limited Jaguar flying in the local area of Coningsby will happen but this is purely cremoanial related.
I wonder what happened to the bits and bobs at Halton in the 80’s when I went through. There was certainly a canopy, and other bits that I can’t recall ( brake unit? )
At Cosford prehaps?:D
Valentines day in the loop produced a very good days viewing.

What time was the Jag T4 shot taken?
Nope , only German Tonka’s 😉
No Jags on thier last euro Det either. they went home on Thursday!!:D

This parachute regiment Major is currently on active war service in Afghanistan.
The Major has posted on the internet ( or more likely a deliberately
leaked e-mail) a detailed account of the whole incompetent
affair about the failings of our RAF combat air-to-ground support. Can someone please find & post this particular piece of e-mail. The rest of us
will be very interested to read the paratroop Major’s scathing article in
its entirety.Regards & thanks in advance for the article.
It would be intresting to know how many CAS requests made by this major to the JHF actually hit his resquested targets. As already stated in this thread, I was privillaged to observe a CAS training sortie in Jordan from the attacking aircraft. The FAC’s view is completely different to a pilots view from two miles up if it was a verbal aiming. At least nobody was killed 😡 (how many times have A-10’s hit Brits?) 😡 . The RAF is in the same boat as the army in being overstreched, as stated in the broad sheet articles of the last week. Are the papers overemphasizing the problems, propably not! Will other fleets be called in? The law as I know makes the answer :diablo: ” watch the news!” :diablo:
Beautiful!!!!!!!!!
The most beuatiful aircraft?? It is feline! The cat has always been easy on the eye. 😎 A couple on tasters, Jordan at 5:30 in the morning and some grumpy old bloke sitting in a t-bird, who’s day had been cheered up by dropping a lump of concrete from a mile up onto an abandoned car in the desert ( and didn’t throw either!)
To back up Big Vern, ” Hi, Bro!”, the majority of the pilots on BBMF are the Stanevals of the other types flown from Coningsby. The Hurricane pilot this year will be the Jag Staneval. In any war, he would be flying Jags!
