Bump .. Which is what we’ll probably have to do to the Jeep to get it started

The jeep will probably need a push anyway.

😡 I could get quite offended by remarks like this!

    But, don’t worry chap’s you won’t have to push…
I know where there are some bungee ropes a la Wren!! :diablo: 😀

There is a museum on the site at Twinwood Airfield. It is housed in the bottom half of the restored Control Tower. Having visited before I can say that it is well worth a visit.
As well as the restored Control Tower there are also several of the administration and crew buildings still surviving. An original blister hangar similar to the one at Old Warden also remains on site. The museum has a dedicated band of volunteers who have restored some of the buildings to their former glory and are working hard on others.

It is also one of the locations that will be visited during a forum meet on the 20th, so I am sure that some photos will be posted in due course.

Meanwhile, their website address is http://www.twinwoodevents.co.uk/

    Nice Avatar !! , is it a TED 20 ?? , I have 2 , both petrol / paraffin one 6 volt and one 12 volt . Great British single seat 2 litre vehicle !!. 🙂

Thank you very much, it is the Shuttleworth Collections TED 20, 12v petrol/paraffin variant, the stalwart of the aircraft movement fleet, after the volunteers!!
It is no longer a single seater any more as it is quite precarious balencing three people on the implement gear at the back, so a very clever volunteer constructed a large comfortable settee for the ‘passengers’. This makes moving people to recover rotary engined aircraft much easier but does have an effect on the CofG!!!!
If you meet up with us at OW on the 20th then I can show you around before we leave.

    Hi
So should we meet at OW for brekkers? Then we can follow the Jeep to Twinwoods.
Do you think it’ll make Northamptonshire too?

😮 What do you mean – ‘do you think it’ll make Northamptonshire!!’ – Of course it will!! It’s been to Normandy you know!!
Of course it might take twice as long as everybody else

Of course if it doesn’t make Northamptonshire then I will blame somebody else :diablo:

Sounds like a good plan – we’ll be there!

16:30 rings a bell. Wheres Fergy when you need him??

Cant make the last one anyway.

Always late – thats where! 😉

You are correct in saying that flying is due to start at 4.30, but it is well worth speaking to the Shuttleworth Shop 01767 627288 or Grandad Biggles as there is an aeromodelling event on during the day as well. This could (will) affect flying in.

This was taken today from roughly the same spot, although the doors were closed today and I couldn’t be bothered to open them! I’ll let somebody else post the more visible ‘now’ picture 🙂
The carriages are caravans and they are in the main pre-war part of hangar 1. The actual caption to the photo is the last Proctor and the first caravans at Old Warden. The photo was taken when Shrager Bros, the maintenance team on site, was finishing aircraft maintenance and starting caravan production.
