What size ‘replicas’ (covers from 1/1 flying to 1/144 plastic…)?

Try the Museo del Aire near Madrid?

    http://www.aire.org/museo/index.html

My contribution will be in 1/32 and mostly in 1/48 scale.
In the past, I tried the museo del aire in Cuatro Vientos, but the best information about the museum aircraft I got was from private sources.
    Again thank you
And I thank all the kind men that participated in this topic.

    Hi Robert,
Ah. I’d call that a bulkhead. I don’t recall any meaningful data on it, nor do I recall a pic in a magazine of that, but you are obviously remembering one! Gary Austin’s (Retroaviation) shots on WIX are some of the best I’ve seen, including about the only shots of the instrument panel out there. You could ask him to see if he can get a shot when he next visits if you are in no hurry. I’ll have a look through my notes, but I don’t recall anything on that. I’d expect it would be ‘just’ a flat panel with access holes, as seen – but that’s obviously just a guess.

May I ask why you want to know?
    Cheers
    James

    Hi James,
You are right there is nothing about this detail. Only one picture on a magazine and I was silly as I didn’t buy it.
I would like to make replicas of the Spanish 109 family including the Hispano powered.
But, the technical documentation is something scarse.
I will try my luck with Gary Austin.
Thank you for all your efforts.
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
I’m not clear exactly where you mean – fuselage interior? Under the rear canopy framing?
    Cheers,

Sorry JDK, I will try to be more precise.
Look at that picture found on the WIX. The red square is showing what I’m speaking about. I would like to get a picture showing more detail.
    Bye

Your best reference will be Robert Rudhall’s two books; there’s been numerous mentions of the two seater in various magazines in the past, including both Flypast and Aeroplane. The best reference is actually a French publication. I’ve done some drawings myself some years ago, and there is all sorts of small bits of data around if you know where to look.

If you post what in or why you are are interested, we may be able to help further (like the details of the French publication! 😀 )

    Regards,

    Thanks JDK.
I’m looking for a special picture showing the rear part of the second cockpit. There is a curved structure to cover the gap between the second seat and the rear fuselage.
The magazine I’m speaking about gave that special picture.
I checked on the net (including WIX with the disassembled pictures) and all the paper documentation (including the Hors série Avions Les Messerschmitt espagnols), but this detail is not shown.

Not sure – it’s possible it might have been Flypast or Aeroplane Monthly; there were several articles run at the time as 1999 would have been 30 years following the film’s release.

There are quite a few photos of it floating around in its current condition, though. Robert J. Rudhall’s books on the making of the film also had several photos of it, both at the time of filming and in its current owner’s hangar (disassembled etc)….

If you search the forums, there’s a wealth of information about the film and the aircraft to be had.
