Pak-French defence cooperation to deepen: President Musharraf

PARIS, FRANCE: President Gen. Pervez Musharraf Wednesday met here with with his French counterpart, Jacques Chirac, at the Elysee palace, which lasted for around 90 minutes.

While talking with journalists after his meeting with Mr chirac, President Musharraf said his message that during in the meeting a number of global and regional issues came under discussion a consensus was developed on majority of the issues came under the discussion.

He told that the US-led campaign against terrorism must not be limited to military measures but include action to tackle the social and economic roots of extremism.

“Pakistan happens to be in the forefront of fighting terrorism. But we see the combat as having two dimensions. One dimension is being applied. This is the fighting and the military aggression to which we are contributing the maximum.

“However the second dimension does not seem to have started yet. And this second dimension is the real dimension — the strategic dimension — which is addressing the root causes,” he said.

When asked he believed Osama bin Ladin was still alive but his whereabouts was unknown.

Replying to question about purchasing of French F-16 fighter planes, the president said: “We would shore up defence cooperation with France in a number of matters.”

He informed Pakistan itself too was making a jet plane for which many of the equipments needed for their manufacturing were being imported from France.

“Kashmir issue was also discussed in our meeting and we have outright understanding over this issue like many others”, he stated.

France believed tension in Middle East would never be overcome until and unless Palestinian issue was resolved, President Musharraf informed.

President Musharraf also extended offer to Mr Chirac to visit Pakistan which former accepted.

And people are not ready to believe Fc1 will host any Westren avionics …..I think if Pak is able to get AMMRAMS probably then Pakistan can also ask America for help in tweaking FC-1 to carry AMRAAMs… wow Imagine FC-1 with RAM coating carrying AMRAAMS …DRAGON becomes stealthy and lethal….And also FC-1 will become truly global in sense…. can carry Chinese/Russian or American Hardware…a true open architecture based aircraft

by MiG21 or any other help is available for that… or for dropping bombs….

Do the current prototypes carry a RADAR with them?
If so when is the shedule set for radar integretion , …&. when will weapon integretion take place?

Yep thats the SETKA gun mode alright. The aim cross is made from the elavation and azimuth scales. The target’s wings must align within the two set of diagonal lines for the bullets to hit. The pilot must use the elevation scale to measure the target altitude and adjust for bullet drop manualy.
SETKA is the main gun aiming system in the Bis AFAIK. Other aircraft include the Mig29 and Su27 have it too but it is used as a last resort in those planes. If the radar and IRST fail then SETKA becomes the iron sights.

Sorry for asking agaain but could u enlighten me more about it…Does it mean in MiG29 or Su-30K(not MKI), the computer does not provide cue on Hud ,for aiming??And the thing u explined heere…makes targeting very cumbeersome ini MiG21 isnt it?

Stealth? Sextuplet FBW? 2 yrs and JF-17 without a confirmed engine fit, glass cockpit, radar, avionics, EW will be better than F-16I?
Anybody want to add more to this, perhaps with a link to confirmed articles please?

Its not Sextuplet but quadriplex..and why not better than F-16I’s it is not but 2+ yrs is what is reqiured for achieving that stat …cant u see how fast pak/chinese tech is developing?

What will be radar range I thik it should be atleeast 150-200km with capablity to track 8-10 targets and simultaneously engage 4 -6 targets.I think this is atlesat Pak should aim for.Sigh but cant they increase no of hardpoints?
