A friend and co-worker of mine was an engine fitter on Argus’ back then. He told of going to the UK. on some of those trips. He was based out of CFB Greenwood, in Nova Scotia, my home province. Sadly, he passed on recently, shortly after early retirement.

I miss those late-night stories, Ron.

If the critics panned it, then I’ll go see it. Most of those snobby twits would’t know a good movie if it came up behind them and kicked them in the ****. Of course, I’ll see it anyway, as I’ve never missed an Indy flick yet. I’ve even seen all episodes of the TV series ” Young Indy.”

Accurate on not, it’s the only Mosquito that I have ever had the chance to see up close and to actaully touch. At least once a year, I make a pilgrimage to the AAM to see what’s new and to touch ( very gently and briefly ) a little aviation history.

The CF-100 pic was taken in 2004. It was pretty shiney then, but I couldn’t get a good shot of it because the sun wasn’t in a good position.

Here are a few, taken from my own collection of photos.

The first four images were taken at the Alberta Aviation Museum in Edmonton Alberta, Canada.

Then it’s off to Edmonton in September, when I’m on vacation. I try to get down to the museum at least once a year.

Although not fighter aces, I did meet the surviving crew members of Lancaster VR+A/KB726, the Mynarski Lancaster. This was at the official first flight of the Canadian Warplane Heritage’s restored Lanc, in September, 1988.

It’s good to see another Canadian Lanc being looked after.
