I just saw the news. Very sad and just when we thought everyone was OK.

Thankfully everyone is safe and the boat appears to have suffered only minor damage. Just their luck that the weather was so rough.

I tend to agree with Jonesy that the bugs will get worked out and that these boats will provide good service.

Anyone here can log on to the US government site which details the rules with respect to entry into the US.

As far as what happens when you get off the aircraft? Well that will depend on your behavour and attitude, but those who act like a-holes usually have the most dificulty.

I assumed, incorrectly it would seem, that this reputation feature was available to Mods only. Looking back I have to agree that none of the Mods I know here would log such a comment about me (or anyone else for that matter). If they had an issue about any position or view of mine, they would say it openly and not behind my back. They have all done so a number of times. 🙂 I take back my suggestion that one of the Mods could have logged the comment. It was wrong of me to suggest such a thing.

I don’t know who posted it and I don’t realy care at this point. My purpose was to highlight the feature for those who didn’t know it existed. I think you are correct about why this feature was included. I am certain most members will ignore it. I will.

Well I do agree with your remarks and especially the point about abuse and ill-feeling.

I must say that I was more amused than annoyed due to the juvenile nature of the concept. I would dearly love to see the rational behind the “points award”. I doubt the Mods will want to reveal this structure.

I hope others will chime in on this as its to good to let pass.

I wonder if these comments will earn me more points or even outright banishment. Perhaps I will have to stand in the corner. :p

Well to answer your question, no. You are a crank because you can’t seem to respond objectively to a view contrary to you own without adding a dose of ridicule.

Such wit. Especially the last part.

I agree with your defence of the US media. While it’s easy to get irked at the constant stream of cliches, I find the US news and reviews to be quite balanced and impartial most of the time and seldom slanted or selective about the stories and issues aired. Journalistic diversity in the US is huge, questioning and very critical at times not only of governments, but of American values and beliefs. Anyone who has witnessed a White House news conference knows just how pointed, critical and cold blooded the press corps can be. I doubt there is another nation where the press is as free to discuss the merits (or lack of merits) of government or where individuals are as free to hold and voice decenting views

Not everyone is impressed by the nonsensical rants, silly comments and the stories told here by a few of the better known cranks. 😉

Hardly verification that the F-16 had an appalling record.

Perhaps you could detail to us the stats and facts which were published as a result of the “appalling safety record of the ‘in service’ F-16s” during the period you mention.

Perhaps the question is not will Israel be able to afford the F-22, it’s will the US be able to afford to give it to them? It seems that Isreal buys it’s fighters from the US with military aid from the US.

If the improvements that you claim Israel makes to the F-16/F-15 are that impressive, perhaps it should offer them to the US at bargain prices to compensate and show it’s appreciation for the enormous amounts of aid US taxpayers shell out (not to mention the abuse they take from around the world for their loyalty).

If that is not acceptable, then perhaps Irrael could get its fighters from say China. I am certain China would be happy to supply them at reasonable prices.

By the way why don’t you disclose your location so we can all see where you hail from?

    Given that US aircraft flown by USAF/USN/USMC personnel are always beaten by all other forces, regardless of the type of aircraft the opposition uses, American, European, Asian, etc. (according to various unnamed aviation writers and various other experts as detailed ad nauseum on this forum for the last 3-4 years), I have a question or two;

Why is the US and wasting vast amounts of US taxpayers money equiping the IAF with F-16s and F-15’s, etc?

Why can’t Israel use Chinese F-6’s ( second-hand cheap from Pakistan) or (gasp) the F-7PG. They would still be able to beat the inferior US forces during war-games 200 out of 211.

    Other considerations:

US taxpayers would save enormous amounts of money.

Israel could save money as Israel would no longer have to maintain an expensive lobby in the US begging for more US military aid.

Israel could sell all of its weapons technology to the Chinese, Pakistan, etc. The US wouldn’t be able to complain and Israel would no longer have to feal guilty about selling US technology to others.

Israel would stop carping about the US holding out on them about the latest radars, etc, on it’s free F-16’s.

I am sure there are others but you get my drift.
