Why are the rules not being enforced now?
Why is this subject being hidden in this thread? Shouldn’t the relevant comments be listed in a separate thread with an appropriate heading. Some may not be aware of your “amnesty notice”.
Your point about honesty is valid but I believe most would comply. I am proud to be a Canadian living in Ontario. You are an American, why not post?
By the way where is Halo 2; Me 8, You guys 0?:)

My two cents (CDN)
Requiring every member to at least list their location/county and citizenship would be helpful. I have noted that the members (including a few mods) who regularly ridicule others, are often those who leave their location blank.

You asked if I know of any evidence to support my contention that less people are dying now in Iraq than when Saddam was in power?
My initial response is to simply to turn your question around and ask you, have you any evidence to the contrary, but apart from the fact that that wasn’t the statement made, where does that get us?
I was responding to the claim made by WP840 that “More people have died since Saddam was deposed than were killed under his rule.” That is highly unlikely to say the least given the history of Saddam’s 30+ years in power.
My general impression is that the number of people killed since the invasion is but a small fraction of the toll during the 30+ yrs of Saddam’s rule given the Iran-Iraq war, the various purges conducted by Saddam, the UN sanctions, etc, etc. The Iraq Body Count group purports to be the most accurate and it is anti-war but it also ridicules the high body counts claimed by others which suggests to me that at least it is trying to be objective. You can check for yourself.
I guess we will never know what the count would have been from the date of the invasion until now, if Saddam and his sons had remained in power. Perhaps he would have been content just to remain in power and abandon all notion of restarting his WMD programs. In that case, the death toll would have been the daily number of killings required to maintain power.

Everything is fine in Mordor as long as it’s clear to you that I was objecting to the statement by WP840 that “More people have died since Saddam was deposed than were killed under his rule.” which is nonsense.

Perhaps one of you can explain the previous post as it appears to relate to comments which do not appear in the thread.

I beg to differ.

During the time this thread has been open, thousands more Mexicans have demonstrated how much faith they have in Mexico’s ability to provide them with the the good life, by putting on their running shoes and heading north of the Rio Grande.
Putting all talk about Mexican vacations, Mexican girl friends and Flankers aside, that is the reality.
By the way, my bio clearly states were I hail from. Yours is blank!

If this is true it’s great news for Oz as the Superbug will blend in with the legacy fleet.

The ceremony for Saddam will hopefully involve going to a little concrete room, walking up a few steps (13?) having a noose put around his neck and then being dropped through the floor. Short or long drop? Either would be fine with me. 🙂

I can see no valid reason why Mexico needs fighter aircraft of any type. Certainly not to fight drug runners. Mexican officials are the drug runners in many cases. Mexico should concentrate on air assets which can be used in civil defense. Who is going to attack a country were the biggest industry is exporting it’s poor people? Poor people need jobs and services, not expensive aircraft supplied by another country who can’t look after it’s own people.
You could argue that the situation in Mexico is actually a positive for the U.S. Lot’s of poor people who want to work, find work, and improve themselves, pay taxes and advance the economy, are Christian and fit in traditional U.S. values and as a bonus don’t seem to spend a lot of time whining about being victims. Contrast that with problems with immigration in other nations (unnamed) who attract folks who share no values, don’t fit in, and don’t want to fit in and sometimes try to blow the place up.
