How many A-10’s were shot down?

Well the verdict is still out on all three of these programs. We shall see. The F-22 will likely set a new standard right off the mark and I believe the engineering teams will solve the outstanding issues. If the overall design is solid we can look forward to 30 plus years of enhancements.
As far as the other two, who knows, but to a previous generation, the helicopter was just a pipe dream so I see no reason that the technical issues related to the V-22 and the RAH -66 can’t be solved.
Glad some of you are not in charge. What a dismal out-look some of you have.

Plawolf has a point. Is the radar that bad or is it politics?
Perhaps the U.S. should remind the Israelis of that old saying about looking a gift- horse in the mouth. Maybe they should start looking elsewhere for their annual aid package.
Given the curren U.S. defence budget, is this an oportune time for the U.S. to cut some of the financial costs relative to it’s relationship with Israel? Why not suspend delivery of the F-16’s? (after all, if the IDF can’t use the product, why continue?) Then make the solution to the technical issues with the radar solution contingent on advancing some of the politics connected to the Israeli/Palestine question.
My intention isn’t to start a flame-war.
Sauron
So what’s the solution here? Stop all development work because new engineering is difficult? Put the GAO in charge of all military R&D?

I have often wondered about how english accents have evolved myself. Some small english speaking communities in Quebec still retain quite a bit of the original Irish while a few miles away others whose have the same background, sound very different. All this occurs within a francaphone majority. Similar residual flavours (Scotish/Irish) exist throughout the Atlantic provinces. There are many regional accents in Canada among english speakers but none that I have come across, sound particularly “english’ which is a bit odd.
It seems to me that, some quite strong U.K.accents almost disappear when people sing. There are exceptions to be sure.

I believe the actor who played Scotty was from Canada but your observations are well noted. I live very close to an Mennonite community where they sound ‘european’ as you say.

I always get a kick out of the way some anti-US types react when one of their outrageous and unsupported claims is challanged or when a point is made that their can’t counter. They accuse the other person of intransigence, get all moral and huffy, make character judgements about folks they don’t know and start name calling like children.
Then, their are those that believe dancing and dodging around every point and constantly changing the subject, makes for good arguement.
Thankfully their are others who take a more balanced approach which makes visited here worthwhile.
Just my opinion.

Wow! Selfrightousness and childish name calling on the same page!
Ignorant Canuck I may be but not ashamed to put it in my bio unlike some of my critics. 😉

So you are telling us that the CIA takes full responsibility for your so called facts. The body counts were the sole result of calculated interventions on the part of the CIA acting on orders of the U.S. administration of the day? No connections to events in the particular country involved, simply done out of context and in isolation? I am sure their are those who believe or even need to believe your facts. I think you have been reading Noam.
An yes I do think that the end sometimes justifies the means. If you were to look back you might discover that a couple of the biggest admirers of the good old USSR, and currently active on this forum, are firm believers in that very proposition but I can’t name names. 😉
Yes, I am from Ontario, Canada, a fact which I clearly show, unlike some others who are apparently ashamed to stand up and state where they live.
Just a wild guess, but are you an American? One of those Americans who live the good life and feel guilty about it? The kind that turns up at a ‘peace march’ with a sign that says. ‘America is a terrorist state’ or maybe ‘Bush is worse that Hitler’?

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I had no idea:confused: I alway thought that everyone outside N.A. was a commie. 😀

Where in the world do you get this stuff from? The Noam Chomsky commie hand book?

Two rival designs for a handfull of orders but no operational carriers to fly from for who knows how long.
