Its silly of me perhaps but I figure that given what these two charactures did in the middle of civilized Europe, there would be a massive hunt on but Europe seems rather unconcerned. Surely given the nature of the crimes and the size of the European economy enough Euros could be collected for a detailed search.

I would have thought pride alone would have done it but I guess most people find the Saddam hunt more interesting perhaps because it diverts attention away from the fact these guys are still on the loose.

It seems to me that the UN spent years believing, looking and destroying WND in Iraq and up to the point of the invasion still believed it had more.

So, as most of you are strong believers in the UN, it’s understandable that you are upset that no direct evidence of additional WMD has been found thus far. Having to admit you are wrong is tough sometimes especially when you didn’t have the courage to resolve the problem yourself. So lets be happy that the US/UK/Australian governments did have the courage to go in and get rid of Saddam.

Oh, and be reminded that while Saddam hasn’t been found, neither have the two Serbs who were responsible for the genocide in Europe just a short time ago. Why have they not been found? What a shame!

Well Saddam had WMD, he used them, he acquired more of them and would have likely continued attempts to acquire more lethal and effective varieties had he remained in power. Will any more be found? Who knows? For the moment I am happy that Saddam, his spawn and his regime are gone.

Your claim about US media not reporting events in Iraq is simple minded nonsense. Censorship? Give us a break. You don’t believe that youself unless you believe in fairy tales!

There are as many detailed reports on all aspects of events in Iraq from as many points of view as you could wish for, from both US and foreign reports carried on US new chanels not to mention the news on the “‘ethnic” chanels which are full of non US generated reports from as many sources as you can digest.

Nothing in the so called ‘extracts’ that you list is unknown in the US. Given the biased tone and language in some of the items, I would be more inclined to question the objectivity of the European press if that is a fair sample. Perhaps that is the only type of reporting that gets printed or broadcast in Europe. Looks to me like you are the one being selectively fed only what your left-wing press wants you to hear and that is to bad because you are the one who suffers in the long run.

The wisdom of actions taken and the consequences of the Bush administrations foreign policies in Iraq and elsewhere are debated constantly in the US media on a daily basis as is that of any US administration. It is beyond the capacity of any US administration to control the press in the US.

It’s interesting how many are saying that the reconstruction of Iraq is being mishandled and proceeding slower than expected. I wonder who would do a better job? Certainly not the UN. France, Russia and Germany? Ya right! (talk about putting the monkeys in charge of the bananas!). Lots of critics but no specifics about how this can be done faster other than vague comments about let Iraq handle its own affairs ASAP. We would all like to see that happen most of all the US.

Anyone can say the process is taking to long but I think an objective look at past events would suggest turning a nation around after a mad man has been in control for an extented period, takes more than a few months. How soon did the allies turn Germany over to a truely German government after WWII?
