I see you are still on your disinformation mission to defend the good old USSR and communism. 😀 Was there ever a system more loved, by more people, who never had to actually live with it.
The only system so fawed that walls had to be build to keep people in.

I think it was Cubans who were defeated at the Bay of pigs.
Viet Nam ? Hard to see that as a military loss.
Korea a military defeat? If you view starvation in the north as a better deal than life in the south, then fine. A military loss for the US? I would say it was a military defeat for NK, China and even the USSR. We should bare in mind that other nation contributed to the victory as well due to the fact that at that time the UN recognized its responsibilities (unlike now).
I think ‘the Military side of things’ had more than a little to do with winning the cold war. The obvious flaws and brutality of the USSR had a lot to do with it.
As far as Americans are concerned, they are the best neigbours one could have.
Hard to imagine how the world would be better off without them given the last 100 years of so. Most anti-American feelings IMHO stems from simple minded jealousy due to the influence of American power and the popularity of ‘so called American values’.

Why is it OK to insult and call both President Bush and PM Blair names but its not fair to call M. Chirac names? Both Blair and Bush have been insulted numerous time here. At least two members of the forum have advocated that President Bush be killed.
Hand
Can you list the weapons that the US has supplied Iraq with? Most of the airforce seems to be French and Russian types going back 30 years or more. Perhaps you are referring to naval and army equipment, but what specifically? Please leave out the Bio agents, and chemicals, we know that they have many sources.

I envy your plane spotting experiences. I hope you manage to stay out of jail if you venture into hostile territory in the future.
My exposure to military aircraft has been limited to the local annual airshow involving US, Canadian and a few European visitors from the UK, Germany, Holland, etc and occasional refuel stops from units going to and from Maple Flag, etc. Last year the shows were mostly cancelled. Hopefully 2003 will be better.
Getting back to Korea, it seems that the North Korean leaders are very sensitive types who can dish out the insults but can’t deal with the truth when they hear it. If there ever was an evil regime, it’s NK. It would appear that many others around the world also have difficuilty dealing with a a little straight talk about the nature of places like NK but have no problem insulting the US president for called a spade a spade. Reminds me of the little rhyme about “sticks and stones will break my bones, but names…… Oh well.
What I find interesting about the current Korean issue, is how many put the blame on the US. Oh I know, Bush shouldn’t have called a leader who only spends millions on his birthday party evil, even if thousands of people starved to death as a result. After all, Kim is a sensitive guy and we can all understand how he already feels about having to take food handouts from the US, poor fellow.
As far a the South is concerned, they will not own up to their responsibilities until the US gets out. Apparently none of the neighbours feel they should get involved in settling the Korean issue either.
Its strange how Russia and China are among the countries complainting how the US is ignoring the dangers of regional problems, attitudes, issues and interests in the Mid-east, at the same time they refuse to support a multi-national approach in Korea. I guess they don’t view the fact that the local madman may have an atomic bomb, a regional issue.

South Korea can sign whatever paper, pact, agreement or treaty it wants. I agee with you about the USAF situation and so does Rumsfeld and that was the one of the points he made.

I had no particular point in mind other than to draw attention to something I believed might be interesting.
Sorry if the report disturbed you.
The SH reference was a joke. Sorry about that too!

Given your remark about carrier sortie rates during the Gulf War perhaps you would be interested in the GAO report on carrier operations.
You guys remember the GAO don’t you? – at least all you Super Hornet slaggers do I am sure. These pencil necks are the fountain of all wisdom about all things concerning US military issues.
Anyway, you can read it for yourselves.
