    RE: Korea..an example?

All beneficaries grow to resent their benefactor. This applied to Japan and Germany and more recently to South Korea and Taiwan.
Roh Moo Roh exploited this fact to help him win the recent South Korean election by suggesting that the US is the real problem in Korea (what else is new?)

As usual the rest of Korea’s neighbourhood is willing to stand back and let the US try and pull their collective chestnuts out of the fire for them (how’s that for cold war talk Garry?).

IMHO the South isn’t worth another US life or dollar and I would like to see the US pull all its forces out and let SK, Japan, China and Russia figure out what to do with the North on their own. They are wealthy enough to buy off Kim Ding Dong on their own if thats what they want.

I would go further and pull US forces out of Japan and Germany and throughout Europe including the UK, only maintaining peace keeping forces where necessary. The US should not be wasting its resourses in these areas anymore.

Garry, you old utopian socialist. 🙂 How are things in beautiful NZ?

I especially like your line…” forced isolation killed the Soviet Union and is killing NK and Cuba” Hell! And all this time I thought poor political, social and economic choices killed the USSR. 🙂

Why the artical on the US military in this thread? If you are serious about that subject, we can deal with it but why put it in here?

Do you have personnal views or opinion about anything or do you just post articals?

    Ghazi Eagle

    Let me get this straight.

Oh just got it! The US wants to attack Iraq so that it can get in there first and destroy all the evidence that it is actually responsible for Iraq’s weapons programs.

RE: Libya to head UN’s Human Rights Commission

    ELP

I agree that Geforce would make an excellent UN intern.

Perhaps his first assignment might be as ‘special investigator at large’ for the UN Human Rights Commission. His first assignment could be to compare dietary issues at the US internment facilities for terrorists at Guantanamo Bay and in North Korea’s political detention camps. I suspect that the only possible similarity would be that all the meals are supplied by the US. 🙂

RE: Is Rabie giving GW speech lessons?

    Rabie

Have you been giving GWB speech lessons? If so it would explain some of his occasional lapses. 🙂

I happened to catch GWB giving a speech a few weeks ago. He talked for almost 26 minutes without a single miscue, without once looking at a note and without a prompter. I enjoyed it.

The following sunday I happened to catch a speech by a American leftist university prof made to a anti-American crowd at Carlton U in Ottawa, Ontario. This character mumbled and stumbled his way through a typical anti-American rant which featured comments about GWB being stupid, inarticulate, blah, blah, blah. He read the whole piece, constantly losing his place and fliping pages. I wondered afterward if this dolt even wondered why his talk fell flat.

I also saw a segment late last year where GWB and his wife acknowledged his tendancy to slip into linguistic wonderland and her occasional reaction to it. He accepts his stumbles with good humour.
