Crowd pleasers for sure… what better than to park a plane in peoples own back yard.
Many spectators even camped out the night just to get a glimpse of the fighters…
Certainly it’s a boost to nationalism in Taiwan but zero in tactical value.
What’s funny is in order to get political value out of the exercises; the general population has to suffer every year.
Lights off Taiwan literally as all business and residential area are required to shut off all lights or risk jail time.
Highways are shut off in preparation of the landing before and after the exercise. But really a wast of money that could be better spent by sending pilots to american flight schools.
They had multiple crews spend a whole night preparing the runway. The 2 ton a piece concrete centre dividers had to be removed and debre cleaned up.
quite ineffective if you ask me.
new korean guided rocket? note the foldable wings
What about the MiG 23? I’ll bet there will be very few flying in 25 years.
Mig-23 is an interesting fighter, but the vastness of other soviet choices that dwarfs this plane and the, namely the mig-21 which is still operational till this day.
I seriously doubt that the JF-17 will ever be: it is just a lightweight plane which is easily outclassed by a number of even older planes.
Same could be said of Mig-21 but it remains a classic.
Small, Cheap and light is still desirable.
It really depends on how many operators China can get onboard with its Jf-17/FC-1.
btw, how do we download the video? I’d like to keep it on hard drive.
Actually with youtube a copy is saved in temporary internet folder.
With internet explorer you can access it by going into
internet options/settings/viewfiles.
List the files by size and the biggest ones are usually the videos. They might show up as unknown file types but just copy onto desttop and then pick media player to open them.
Political system directly effects quality of manufacturing process and hence end product life time performance. just look at China as another example.
Unsubstantiated claim based on opinionated prejudice only makes you a fool.
No wonder everyone tries to ignore you…
Hey people! Whats with CDF?? Is it down again? Haven’t been able to access the website for several days now
Hmmm… it was fine yesterday…
Hope its just routine maintance.
Why people should not join the JMSDF…
BTW they should watch some marinecorp AD and learn something…
still no specs aside from pictures I guess…
Just be patient. When Pakistan get a Y-8 then you’ll get the rough performance parameters.
There are inherent advantages to doing it that way.
My point exactly…
Sens was arguing that since Chinese copy of the S-300 was developed later than the original then sensor merging on to one array was somehow expected.
The thing is S-300 never got sensor merging and it never used the one array concept as the Chinese or US. No matter which ever version…
…or is this just inaccurate use of a B/S 3-view ?
China-made jumbo aircraft to be assembled in Shanghai, Xi’an.
No BS
this is xinhua(official) news of a report from the CHinese government that China has plans to produce large capacity jets.
They are currently working with Antonov company but no design have been confirmed.
It might be the An-70 upgrade with terbofans.
similar to the navalized MLRS on the upcoming German F125?
I don’t think it’s been deployed yet.
Only testing on the Defense mobilization ship.
I hope the rockets are guided because a ship isn’t as stable a platform to launch from. Even with stabilization this weapon will be limited to fair weather…
JL-1 on the right, JL-2 on the left.
well if thats JL2 then it’s substancially smaller than what we assume…
the JL-2 looks like it has similar height.
From this photo, we can speculate the photo of the new SSBN could really be project 094. Although people said that the 094 wouldn’t be so small but if JL-2 is in the same size range then it makes this speculation is very much plausible…
Chinese bediou isnt operational as of yet. or is it operational? So it is using second grade GPS signals on Recievers available in international market?
The Chinese Beidou is operational in the region of SE asia. It has not yet reached global coverage but we have seen regiment level HQ units equiped with the beidou GPS moduals.
BTW using second grade GPS signals isn’t such a bad idea although the CEP maybe lower. Hey if IAF had to duct tape commercial trucking GPS units to their Su-30s and consider it the GPS upgrade then the idea of using commercial GPS signals on cruise missiles aren’t so weird after all.
