All of you idiots that think social programs or foreign aid is somehow going to save third world counrties should take a course in agro economics before you balbber your big mouth.
The IMF is the single most destrictive force to any third world country. No jet fighter purchase could ever hope to compete which the damage IMF causeses.
We are not here to argue on economic issues. If you think economics are of a great importance then you came to the wrong forum.

The photobucket site has significantly reduced the size and quality of my scans. Do u know if there’s a way to spread my high quality scans? It’s 5.33MB, 11 pages. I can bittorrent my scans if u want. Just give a tracker that can do the job.
There is a site called usendit and can support big uploads. It only keeps for a week though…
Really, the T/A-50 would be a ideal choice for many third world countries! I just don’t understand why South Korea isn’t selling them by the hundreds……… 🙁
The T/A-50 is predominately a trainer that can be used as CAS… that alone doesn’t sound very pleasing.
Not to mention it too has political strings attached since Lockheed Martin is involved…the avionics and FBW comes from the US.
The fly away price is not on the cheap side and utility is rather limited…
The first pic might be the “Blue Sky” low-altitude radar/FLIR pod…
Shown in 1998 Zhuhai airshow.
I would assume what any EMP device exploded close enouth to affect B-2 would be better filled with pure HE+metal rods. B-2 is hardened good enouth to survive 15-20 km proximity nuclear explosion without mission kill. Now figure yourself how close 1000000 times weaker EMP device should explode to affect B-2.
In theory only. Nothing has been combat tested yet so we may have no idea what may go wrong…

Isn’t that the chinese KJ-2000 with the triangular radome and sat uplink?
when you can see the fan blade with a naked eye this plane going light up liked a chirstmas tree light on any radar.shame it can look rather sheahty with diverless intake and help hide thoese big fan blade
What’s the point?
It’s a trainer and a DSI will increase unnecessary costs in development.
Even if it has a Light CAS role it won’t need to be stealthy.
an article from chinese said that the contribution of france is much biger than israel in j10 item.so i guess maybe the tech and data of novi avion will be the source~~because dassault did develop such aircraft for france af 🙂 🙂
and the relationship between ussr and romonia isnt very well at these years,so will mikoyan support the project?some information said romonia ever develop the engine of iar9x with china
French contribution to PLAAF resulted from the dassault mirage2000 sales proposal to China.
PLAAF sent its pilots to France to evaluated the jet. There are reports of PLAAF test pilots being extremely empressed with the advanced avionics so if anything the mirage actually provided PLAAF with more tech insight…
For real, I want one something fierce now 😀 That thing outa be pretty big too in 1/48 scale. They need to make a J-10 companion!
easy… have you tried ebay?
Alloy constuction with movable flaps…
They said you can mail order from Americas or Europe.
But if you are indeed riped off please let us know…
On the China Defense Blog there is this photo

showing two UH-60. So they are still alive, two at least. (And provided these TV pictures were not from archive, of course).
No not archived pics.
Notice the buggies… they are a very recent addition to PLA
How much would a 4000 tonne freighter be worth at auction?
Wouldn’t the sale of this vessel be more worthwhile to the Australian taypayers than using it as a target?
Of course, the material condition of the vessel might have deteriorated in the three years that it has been in Australian custody.
Heh Pretty good ship… quite new too.
Must be worth qute a bit of money.
It was built in a chinese ship yard. I forgot which…
The PLAAF guy is the one with the blue camouflage.
hmmm weird camo scheme PLA has…
how do you diffrentiate between PLAAF and PLA Marines? They have very similar camo…
Or possibly the they just get a GPS position from the program which is then passed on in traditional manner.
Daniel
Why would you need a wireless PDA then???
Wouldn’t a GPS reciever do for the role you are suggesting?
I belive that Brazil is doing a marvelouss job with its air force, thinking long term they will have a very accurate fleet made up of F-5EM/FM, AMX-M and Super Tucanos. F-16’s, Mirage 2000’s or MiG-29’s are simply a generation behind what the FAB would be looking for. I think the FAB should focus on getting an excellent fifth generation fighter in a decade or so, either Typhoon or Rafale. The Mirage 2000-5 is going to be discontinued this year by Dassault.
On the Peruvian side, I think they should honestly consider the Su-35, the problem with their Mirage 2000’s and MiG-29’s is the same, they will be both obsolete within a few more years.
obsolete ?
harsh words for something the south american country couldn’t afford…
South america does not have the money to buy “excellent fifth generation fighter” simply because they are expensive to buy, train, operate and maintain.
Unless a miracle happens that drastically emproves the economy I still don’t believe they can afford new build third gen aircrafts.
most airborne ground mapping radar use X-band in order to obtain better resolution, already E-8 will be upgraded with AESA radar, while PLAAF “E-8” radar antenna remain a mystery, probably use slotted array antenna similiar to early version of E-8,equally I am surprise they choose Y-8 rather than TU-154 (or even airbus!) as platform.
Hmmm… how did you conclude its a slotted array???
Just because the earlier version of the E-8 used slotted array doesn’t automatically mean the Y-8 platform would have the same equipement.
