    1) Mig-21/J-7/J-8 too many, too similar
    2) F-16 same rule
    3) Mirage III it’s just plain ugly…

American provided f-16 MLU give away types…
some second hand F-5s floating here and there
    Maybe used mig-21,23
I don’t think Iraq has any funding to purchase anything at the time so military aid is the only option.. So it all depends on whos giving what

Wow, China still has these J-5 and J-6 in service!!

Yeah but I thought only as trainers. They are going off service pretty soon to be replaced with JL-9 and or L-15…

If youre talking about the A/T-50 or the Ching Kuo, they pretty much are in the same class as the Gripen (Im talking airframe/engine not sensors/systems).

due to high prices A-50’s future is rather bleek not even sure there is going to be one…so T-50 is going to be the only choice

Ching Kuo although a fighter in class have no export potential as Taiwan can not export any…

K-8 has been pretty successful in export market as it is hosted by Egypt, Sri lanka, Zambia, Tanzania…
Domestic variant for the PLAAF, with all indigenous avionics and WS-11 turbofan engine (16.87 kN thrust)

    regarding the first pic

    Is that a rocket sled?

if it is then is seem the PLA is testing the high speed impact of the missile or high speed stability or something of that sort…

But looking at the way the missile is tilted down i’d be more inclined that it’s a impact test.

If Mig-31 was ever in china you’d already see a copy of it somewhere or at the very least a copy of the advanced radar system placed on a chinese varient but no such indicaton!
Not even similar ECM or Radar have been fitted on chinese planes!

THis is a stupid claim made on even more retaded reasonings…

I’ll be honest: no matter how much they try, i will label ANY future Japanese fighter a total failure if it can’t change into a robot or other sort of mecha.

lol you’ve been watching too much macross… 😀

Why would the new fighter be based on a cartoon show?

There are many bugs with the system but no one is actually admitting to the problems of patriot system…
The system looks good on paper but too many perks whwn it actually operates.
BTW the seersucker isn’t a modern piece of equipement in the first place and seeing hown the system is ineffective against a dated weapon makes you wonder about its effectiveness against any newer weapons out there …

Nop Shengyang never made any Mig 31 or my uncle who worked there for over 30 years would have known about it…

In late 90s China was already developing the J-10 and have J-8 a high speed interceptor already there are no reason to purchase the mig-31

Since this thread is brought back from the dead, let’s add some saucy rumours… I think it’s already in the China-thread, but this would be a better place for it.

    http://www.ixarm.com/Nigeria-expresses-interest-in

Don’t you just hate African countries wasting their scarce resources on useless bling-bling stuff like supersonic fighters? Even though a Nigerian Finback would really look nice in my logs.

woulden’t it be better to buy the FC-1?
Or is it because PLAAF/PLANAF would be selling some cheap secondhand stuff?

That’s nice. When will they get a trainer to train 4th Gen aircrews, like those flying FLANKERs or J-10s? And what does this mean for the L-15? Is it now on hold or cancelled? Or is this article premature, and the L-15 may still win the orders for China’s new trainer?

Arn’t flanker and J-10s trained on designated trainers either the Su-27UBK and the J-10B …?

BTW FTC-2000 is only a basic trainer and with few charateristics of a advanced trainer while the L15 is build as a advanced trainer with more capabilities such as ground attack etc.
So I’m guessing the PLAAF is using both jets as opposed to choosing between the two.

I dont think India has operational S-300PMU.
and do u seriously believe it is India choice to buy US weopons?. The basic point is that with all the money and employment that India gains from US corporation. US gov will allow it to spend that dollars on Russian or French weopons?

I don’t really know the chances of India actually making a procurment from US but the state have been trying very hard to shell out equipement lately!
So I would guess India might be fair game but the logistics problem still exist and should be dealt with before any future procurement…
