The US got more then enough nuclear potential and delivery vehicles. So why buying those rockets ? For testing the NMD ?

It’s a 3000km cruise missile! why woulden’t the americans be interested???
It’s a great chance to study what the Russians are using…

interesting how it’s always Iran or China who are to blame for such an incident…
Why couldn’t it be the US who are actually buying the missiles? Matbe for study purposes?

No need to apply surface coat?! So that all recon and other air-based assets of the enemy should have no difficulty to spot the Russian warships from virtually their naked eyes?

Going by that theory, maybe all the countries should start painting their warships in rainbow colors!! Sailors’ life is dull and drab as it is, atleast the bright multicolored ships will cheer them up!

If the Russian ships are red by design and its not rust, then thats even worse!

well considering modern naval warfare are faught way beyond visual range there is just no point to plant the thing. Air recon are better off not getting too close to the ships if they know that’s best for tham and at that range there is almost no way you can distinguish the colour of the deck of a ship except a grey dot on the surface of the water.

And Li Deng Hui needed a healthly bank account overseas at the time. He was actively trying to get China to attack.

Funny thing was that 50% of the “rebate” actually went to the PRC???
    i wonder why???

The biggest set back in the investigation was the then Taiwanese President Li Deng Hui who took the blunt of the money. He actuall has a swiss bank account with a huge unexplained balance. Due to national pride and elections politics he was never convicted thought all facts was pointed his way.

Well maybe because the only bomber they’re operating at the moment is a fifty-year-old design? Thats a thirty year leap – not bad in my opinion.

Actually crobato is the only one with credible answers as to why the Chinese won’t buy Tu-22M3s. Calling them out-dated or trash is just plain wrong. In terms of performance they’re way ahead of anything the Chinese operate and they’ve got plenty of room for improvement too.

Tell me any new capabilities the Tu-22M3 would be offering to the PLAAF or PLAN that would interest them???

Aside from the cruise missiles that the russian woudln’t include in the deal there would be no use to get the Tu-22

Last I heard the age for high speed high altitue strategic bombers are over!

Why not just upgrade the electronics of the Badger instead for more mission requirements? it would be cheaper than to buy a new airframe, maintain it and at the same time upgrade everything!!!

why are we still onto the subject of the dated Tu22M???

Unless the russian are willing to reopen the production line, which is close to never, the chinese won’t be buying any!!!

The russians are always trying to shove out the trash to India and china for new funding… but the chinese arn’t so easily conned into buying, iwouldent be surprised if you find India pressured into buying the antique airframes…

    1) See the double dect before the hanger on the 115 and the lack of on the 167

    2) there is a heightened box structure where the C802 used to be on the 167.

… USA being Japan’s #1 trading partner will be major pissed off if Japan started buying non USA weapons…

Why??? to offset the trade defecite, that’s why Japan was basically pressured into bying what it has now! I mean seriously the Japanese didn’t really need that much arms.
