…F-18 are carrier capable, that it’s main task for USN, are we comparing to the Mig 29K version??? cause I see two different planes for two different roles!

now now, no need to resort to name calling, not very mature you know, sometimes people can’t handle hearing things they don’t want to hear :diablo:.

I didn’t call you names i said you shouldn’t comment if you know nothing…

So the pirates represent the action of the entire Japanese nation? keeping in mind they came in an era where Japan was made up of multiple warring fiefdoms.. but then again some people just don’t know their history. I’m sure there were other non-Japanese Asian nations that harassed Chinese cities, i guess that means they aren’t allowed to have weapons hundreds of years later because of this eh? šŸ™‚ .

Here is where i’m justified regarding your lack of insight on asian history!
Japanese were pirates because they represent the japanese nation on the whole to other nations at the time. They were the only Japanese who got out of the country, and they were the only official deligation from “the land of the rising sun”. North American Natives were called The Red Men because the first tribe they encountered painted their body red! This was accepted internationally but were all tribes like that? No! but they represented indians at the time!

And final comment to your inquireries as to possible pirates of other nationallity that’s definate no! Southeast asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia were technologically unable to do so, Korea was a puppet nation, as is Vietnam. Vietman was relatively peaceful at the time, being Buddhists.
And when did WW2 happen? quite recently because “the people who suffered” have not all died yet! it’s not like it happened some hundred or so years ago!

Yup that’s why Japan flew a missile over North Korea, and send their submarines into Chinese waters :sarcasm:.

eh, Japan destroyers intercepted chinese merchant vessels in chinese waters, so I woulden’t talk! Go goolge that! Japan has by far a better military than NK! Who do you think is more intimidating? NK with one or two missles or Japan who has the ability to annilate NK?

of course your theory is perfect because Britain and France should be suspicious of each other’s weapons because they’ve had hundreds, if not a thousand years of conflict with each other  that’s why they’re such bitter enemies.

They were allies in WW2. Both are in NATO…there is no relation! BTW go ask any frenchie how they fell about the Brits and you’ll get the same answers! Ever wonder why so many French speaks english yet refuse to answer when you ask something in English?

Nice to know so many children here are still living in WWII 😮
now I’m more convinced Japan needs weapons..

after all there are some countries that can’t be like the eevil French, Brits and Germans who killed each other’s generation worth of young men in two wars, yet get along very well today.

Please don’t comment if you know nothing of asian history!
if you don’t talk no one will think your deaf…

Historically Japan have always been hostile toward China, can’t really blame them having been so small of a mountainous country, glancing a wealthy neighbour. But Japan never had the military power to actually invade China until ww2. Histrically Japanese were a tribe of priates that robbed the costal port cities, and there was almost no way of completely defeating them since they left before an army was mustered up! So yes the asian also had a very long period of war.

We’re not living in WW2 but you can’t ignore history so to prevent it from repeating itself. Why do we have rememberance day? Why do we still have the WW2 ceremonies? Why do we have those war monument? To remember those who died and to teach our children the severeness of war!

Even if Japan developes offensive weapons you have to ask yourself what it is for. Japanese expasionism is by far much stronger than China given it’s geographical situation. Japan have no crude oil, no major mineral deposits on island. so ie no major natural resources! Japan depends solely on its industries but as you see the market has come under extreme competition! Cheap labour from china, india, etc forced many Japanese industries to relocate its factories.

As i said before Japan have no right as to develope a first strike capability, and hopefully the US government will contihue agree with me…
Collen Powell’s comment as to Japan joining UN as a permant member reflect this. He said Japan still have a “long” way to go before such a proposal will be recognized. emphasizing on the “long” here! Why? because having a nuclear Japan will without doubt destabilize asia to the extent that Taiwan conflict will seem miniscule! It will drive both China and Russia to rethink its tactics, and policies in asia. I’m sure not only will NK be worried but also SK as well! South Korea have no intention of seeing a nuke armed Japan as much as China!

I’m implying that if Israel is free to develop its own nuclear deterrent, then Iran should be free to do the same.

well your government seriously don’t agree with you…so does the isrealis.

Actually, I have no problem with Iran pursuing a nuclear program either, given that there is a certain nation possessing nuclear arms in the region which has a superiority complex and thinks they should be the only people in the area to possess such a capability.

What does that mean??? Are you implying something else along with what you said??? I’m baffled… please clarify.

Germany doesn’t need to develop nuclear weapons. If war would have broken out between NATO and the Warsaw Pact, for example, US tactical nuclear bombs would have been made available to German Tornado units. For Germany, the option was there.

Japan, on the other hand, faces a nuclear threat from both North Korea and China. Now, I have no issues with China having nuclear arms. We have them, and at times haven’t been exactly on speaking terms with the Chinese. There have been times when Russia has also been at odds with China, and they have a whole mess of nuclear weapons. North Korea is another story-they did agree after all not to develop them in exchange for certain things during the Clinton Administration. But that’s beside the point. If China and North Korea point nuclear missiles towards Japan, why should they be denied an equatable deterrent capability?

Granted, certain elements in Japan are against nuclear weapons, for obvious reasons. But if possessing a limited nuclear deterrent would make China or North Korea think twice about starting with them, it would be in the interests of the safety of their citizens to develop such a capability.

And japan isn’t under the US nuclear shield? American nukes are pointed at Iran, why are the iranians denied this. Your argument don’t make sense! If you say Iran has agressive tendencies than what makes you think Japan have none?

Why is there internation pressure only on Iran? I ‘m only saying that if Japan developes nukes or long range missiles it should theoretically face the same consequence as Iran, therefor Japan should not enjoy a first strike capability.

There was an Su-25 variant that had it installed, I forgot the name. and it’s not the podded Su-39 either. The recent revelations of the MiG-21 Bison at Cope India had me looking at this radar again and what kind of capabilities it has versust he ZHuk ME

btw, doesn’t China want the Zhuk series on their MKKs?

No the russian are proposing the Zhuk for the MK3 batch but the chinese are choosing between the zhuk and the N011M…

I guess that latter have more of a chance…

I also vote for Japan building nukes, making more offensive weapons, and exporting their weapons systems to countries. It is a real shame they don’t export their equipment to other countries because they produce some really nice kit. On a seperate note; I don’t know why there is so much japan bashing. No one ever brings up the terrible things the Germans did in both world wars but I bet no one here would complain as much if Germany wanted to start producing more offense weapons.

German arn’t bashed as you said because they apologized for their war crimes… espically to the jews!

Japan on the other hand denies everything…please go read Japanese history text book on WW2. They state the asians welcomes a japanese imperial occupation! who the hell would agree to that crap?
They try to brain washing their youth into thinking that what they did in ww2 wasn’t so bad after all, and maybe it was justified on the account that the asian had much to gain from a japanese occupation… oh so killing people are good? murder is somehow justified???

It’s a insult to china as is to other asian nations. It like having a bully came into your home rapes your mother and comes back the day after to tell you he did it for the benefit of you…

The asian nations were too easy on the japanese after the war, espically china who never demanded war retrubutions. I don’t think japan would be as it is now had it have a tremendous war debt 60 years ago!
BTW i don’t bash japanese, i just don’t really like their attitude…! The Japanese mentality of the worshiping the victor…it’s just soo sad.

The Geman have the same treaties restricting them from developing offensive weapons. I don’t see them complaining that they aren’t allowed to develope nuclear or long range missiles!

i thought the Kopyo is intended only for the mig 21 bis upgrade…
the Zhuk-ME have better detection range 160km? and are compatable with the R-77, the Kh-59M ASM etc…

    Hi

I use a Canon 300D/Digital Rebel camera. All the pictures, except the Super Hornet one, was taken with a Canon 75-300mm lens. The Super Hornet one was taken with a Sigma 170-500mm lens.

If you like you can find more pictures at my homepage. I have just redesigned the page, so if anyone drops by feel free to send me a comment on the look and usefullness of the site šŸ™‚

    Regards

D rebel over the Nikon D-70 i’d go with the nikon… has a faster shutter speed so better for military action… almost same price…

the sigma lens must be a bitch to buy… how can you afford such a thing…??? i’m assuming your not a pro photographer.

That mentions industry. It doesn’t say Japan can’t purchase offensive systems.

As it stands, it all seems to me that Japan was free of the restrictions once it formed it’s own government again and the occupying force withdrew.

… purchase long range missiles or nukes???

I seriously doubt the possibilities of that! Who’s willing to sell legally?

The document on the other hand is very badly worded, but i always thought it was done intentionally by the US so that the situation can be manipulated later… anyways the agreement still hold and Japan according to the agreement shouldn’t develope offensive weapon… not that it couldent!
