Anyone know the whereabouts of the Heath Parasol G-AFZE?

Lets hope thats true about the Argosy getting a roof over its head they must only be two or three left complete.

I think the current World count of complete (although not necessarily with engines) Argosies is seven

    USA 3
    UK 3
    NZ 1

The Argosy is the only AWA designed aircraft extant so it’ll be nice to have at least one indoors.

Hope none of you are breaching the Official Secrets Act – revealing that the Tornado has lumps of highly classified concrete in it 😀

Some film/TV companies forbid their stars from doing anything remotely life-threatening – even when not working on a film!

Oh the agony. Being rich and famous enough to own/fly a P-51 – then being told you can’t fly it because you’re too rich and famous!

I do hope that BA and the RAF Museum were able to establish who actually owned VC10 G-ARVM. Seems the true owner could be Boeing, believe it or not

I’ll back David on this – said at a meeting by someone high-up in the RAFM a couple of months ago.

This is a site created and maintained by Barry Clay.

Barry also set up/runs a very active local forum in Yahoo groups called Wings over Warwickshire.

    Sad news.
Never met the gent but knew him only through his Stearman G-AROY. One of the memories of my first ever trip to Old Warden (1962 or 63) was calling in at Sywell and seeing ‘ROY out on the apron – I wish I could find the colour slide I took of it.

Haven’t visited British Pathe for a while. Just did, and downloaded the Kings Cup race from 1967. Great footage showing Charles Masefield winning in P-51D N6356T. 😀 All silver with race #100, and British roundels. Lots of gems in that archive. 😎

I think Charles Masefield’s P-51 was white, not gloss but more matt – it looked as if someone had had a tin of Dulux eggshell white they didn’t know what to do with.

I wish i had the money for that lovely bird.I wonder how much it be to ship it back to the UK.

If you could afford to buy it you wouldn’t be worrying about shipping costs!! 😀

I won’t spare Will J’s blushes – he had his picture in the local paper (The Coventry Evening Telegraph) a day or two beforehand in a nice editorial piece about the event.

I’m good at painting! I know that you hold the wooden end of a paintbrush cos’ I tried it both ways. Holding the bristle end takes a long time to get the paint from the tin onto the wall.

It’s a long while ago but I’m sure the Rapide seats we used in the back of the MAPS van were three legged.
