    I remember a Sea Fury racer (with an R-3350) a few years ago being modified to run on Alcohol- thats got to be the way to go!

    i thought that injecting water (which i had forgotten about!!) was just to cool the air down to make it more dense?- or is that what you mean?

    but there is a big difference between a dealer who keeps his aircraft hidden and someone like Stephen Grey who lets thousands enjoy his collection in a museum environment

    Thats a good point JB, ther are round engines used in racers too-but its the racers where the Engines/aircraft get destroyed on a regular basis- which creates work for people who rebuild them!

    just wanted to reply to this before i run off!!!-Yes, VERY ‘unsual’ man Doug Arnold!! – i would see amazing pieces of news occasionally about what he had or was getting- but in the end i realised he was just a dealer- a real shame!
